Can you explain why the phrase “kids will be the losers” is an insult? Isn’t it a fact that the kids Will be the ultimate losers in this - since they are the ones missing out on much needed education?

I won’t speak for S and S but the word “losers” has a very demeaning connotation.
Perhaps that’s what is offensive?
