God, there is always something wrong with a rishta. Always. And it’s never something minor, it is always something huge…like …
50% of the time: I am in the country on a student/work visa, and something happened at school/work, and they’re about to deport me in the next month unless I get married.
25% of the time: I live in another country, and I want to commit visa scam to get in and marry you, and get a quick green card. Purty please??
10% of the time: I am 35 and I am broke and I don’t have a job.
10% of the time: I am divorced, and I don’t admit this, but it was totally my fault. Either I or my family will beat my wife.
5% of the time: you get these issues. Things like the accent.
This guy is a nice guy, has practically everything I am looking for, except for the small issue that he has been here since 16, from Punjab, yet he speaks like he’s from Kerala with that Harsh r’s and t’s because he works with south indians and he’s in IT so he doesn’t really talk to many real Americans.
I mean, ok, you know maybe I could handle a Pakistani accent, something where you’re obviously from Karachi or Lahore, or some convent school or something where you have an accent but good grammar. Fine.
This is like dude says a sentence and out of every 2-3 sentence, I have to stop him and ask him WHAT ARE YOU SAYING???
And he reminds me of south indians I have worked with in the past, that I have PTSD from because those south indians.
I dunno why you’re having so many issues getting married and I have no idea why you’re picking freshys as potential life partners. I’m sure there’s plenty of single asian guys in the US who will marry you, unless of course you’re doing something which is detering them.
