**At least seven people have been killed and 12 others injured in a shooting at the Fort Hood military base in Texas, according to US media reports.**One person has been arrested and a second is on the run, ABC news reports. It said the base had been locked down.
NBC News network said the two suspects were in military uniform and that the shooter-at-large was believed to have a high-powered sniper rifle.
Fort Hood, located near the town of Killeen, is a large US military base.
It is not yet clear whether those reported killed and injured are civilians or military personnel.

The no is now 12 dead and 31 injured. one of the shooter killed was supposedly Jordanian who did medicine from Virginia and was a psychiatrist in army, n he was too be soon deployed to Iraq.
Apparently some Army Psychiatrist was the culprit of the shootings. His name is a Muslim name, not too sure if he was a Muslim. Do you think the USA are going to pin this on the Islamic world? Any increased security at airports etc?
his name is Malik Nidal Hassan. he is a Jordanian. i saw a video clip on the news. he's wearing white shalwar qameez and malik isn't a jordanian name. lets see who he really is.
to me he looks like indian or pakistani coz of shalwar qameez and Malik as one of the names...i dunno...i amy be totally wrong...its was just my feeling at the time...besides, i didn't say the military is hiding his identity...when i heard the news and saw the video clip the investigation was in its infancy...they didn't know much about him.
How can the army don't know much about him? It is not like he is a young cadet or something he is a Major and of 39 years of age. Been in Fort Hood from some time and under army's surveillance after he posted some stuff about suicide attacks on the internet 6 months ago.
