Re: Settling
I agree that compromise is not " a woman thing" and should not be viewed as such. Both sides must be willing to compromise and be realistic. However, I don’t necessarily agree that men are more picky or that society does not allow women to be picky. Some women are just as picky, if not more so.
From what I gather from reading life1, the ideal man for many (many, not ALL, lest anyone accuse me of generalising) women must:
- Be wealthy/well off or have a good job
- Not have any sort of accent
- Not be too “traditional” but must be not be too “western” either
- Not visit his parents too often but must be okay with his wife to visiting her parents as often as she likes
- Must not spend a single quid on his family without asking his wife but has no right to ask his wife about her finances
- Not ask the woman to contribute to household but must consult her for every one of his financial decisions
Honestly, is this any better than the ridiculous demands some men have?
