The only way to end this trade is to impose harsh punishment on the men who use such "services".
You can arrest or punish all the whores you like, but even removing them from the market will just lead to the mafias behind the trade bringing in replacement flesh.

In USA, there is a new policy between police and media to publish the names, photographs and places of residence of the men who indulge in hiring prostitutes. This has had a pretty negative impact on the "demand" side of this type of "business"!! A very good idea I think.

It may sound funny but I think sexual predators should be given discount card for prostitution.
Even if don't have money they show card , after Govt. pay money to girls.

A friend of mine who had more money than sense used to spend a fortune on call girls, he admitted that he'd pay them £500 extra not to use protection then one day he got a call from the agency saying that one of the hookers he had slept with was saying she was pregnant and he was the father!! Anyway, turned out she was lying and just trying to get 10k out of him (her bf came forward - on a side note who the heck would let their gf work as a hooker??) but now he has learned his lesson and stays well clear.
Also, does anyone remember the story in the London papers about the Arab man who had a heart attack and died after going to meet the high class hooker who turned out to be his daughter.... One of the saddest (and most messed up) things I'd heard in a long time.

Yes, I'm female and he phoned me crying his eyes out and not knowing what to do. I have no idea what diseases he may or may not have had, did tell him to go and get tested. He told me because he was desperate and wanted someone to help him get out of the mess he had gotten himself into.
There is a reason why prostitution is referred to as "the oldest profession". As long as there is a demand for it, the supply will follow. Sad but true. But this doesnt mean that a man who visits whorehouses will one day find a family member there because rather invariably, the men who visit these places are wealthy enough to ensure that their relatives will never need to resort to such.
I agree with you on this as a principle, people involved in perpetrating crimes often get away with their actions be it sexual crimes, economic or military.

I thik in addition to this a lot more is required to effectivley control prostitution. Their is a "sex" business that sell a lot more than women, it includes movies, DVDs, clubs etc
And remember naming and shaming will reduce only a small percentage of buyers, the wealthy old men, 90% of sex buyers are young, unmarried males in their 20s and 30s. These are the poeple who do often get sex from their girl friends but are into porn and want to experiment with what they have watched. They want from prostitute what they don't get from their partner. Young men are often not deterred by "social" consequences of their acts.

Totally agree, it's only a tiny minority of the girls who have their heads screwed on well enough to do it just to earn enough money 4 uni and then get out. The vast majority end up working as hookers on the side. The girls have to pay the club a fee so if the place is quiet they can end up making a loss. The £1000 a night thing is a myth unless the girl is model material (or a pornstar) or has an amazing personality so the clients will sit and pay just to talk to them. The girls more often than not end up spending it on coke and plastic surgery. I know of girls who worked in Spearmint Rhino and they would get hooked on surgery, it was a v.competitive and b*tchy atmosphere, all about who had the biggest boobs, the nicest designer handbag, who was the prettiest etc.

Wow, what a nice thing to say. What my friends get upto in their spare time is their business, they have their lives, I have mine and u'd be surprised to know sometimes even the most 'messed up' people are decent underneath. They just need a helping hand.
I'm not a social worker, I'm a law student. Spending so much time in London I meet people from all sorts of backgrounds and it isn't something I'm ashamed of.

I once met a real prostitute. I was in a home for females who get protection there and a place to stay, who have problems with their husbands or families. I had problems with both and stayed there with my children. There were people from different cultures there. It's not just Muslimahs who have problems with their husbands and families, though I have to admit that a huge part of the ladies there were sadly, the Muslim females.
Anyway, one day they brought there a prostitute named Olga. She was telling us how her life was. She said that she was brought to our part of Europe, because she was told that she would have a normal job here. But here, apparrently she and other females were forced into prostitution. I wondered though why she didn't try to escape, get away. She was there, because the police had caught those people and she had to give them more information.
But you know what, she didn't really seem to mind having done all that! I was just surprised, because she didn't even seem to feel negative about it. She told me a bit about that life, but she seemed to enjoy it. She kept saying that she earned enough to send money home to her family and she didn't really like it that she couldn't do that anymore.
So I think that certain females do it themselves. They do have a chance to do something different. Yet they don't. That prostitute I met, didn't seem to regret it at all and she didn't like being with us (I sometimes felt a bit insulted after a while), she really seemed to miss that prostitution life, when she talked about it and compared it with our situation.
Sure, there probably are prostitutes who have no other choice because they are forced into it, but a lot of females seem to do it without having any regret about it.
And I think if people want to be angry with the men who go there, they should also be angry with most of the prostitutes. They really aren't all forced into that work. Sure, the one I met was told something different about the work she would do, but when she found out what it was, she didn't try to get away and whenever she talked about her prostitution life she often compared it with us and it was really as if she wanted that prostitution life back.

This is very good idea Indeed, the name of the Men should be published along with their pictures, i know few of them will have hell in their lives but it will teach a lesson to other Men.
PM, if u're friends with someone and they're a great person to be around.. at the end u come to know they visit prostitues HOW are u responsible? No one carries cv's stating they indulge in such sin often..
