The difference is that there are no Christian Jihadi groups kidnapping children, blowing up commuters, beheading people and lining up Nepali's in a ditch and shooting them in the back! The actions of these people give legitimacy to Falwell! They make him look like a visionary.
The violent Jihadi epidemic started like any other epidemic. People hardly noticed, or dismissed it as an aberation. It is now clear that it is no scattered instance. If anything it is accellerating. More mosques will burn before you get it...
Why should mr.fallwell not be discussed? He yaps, he promotes hate, who has condemmed him?? Has any major christian figure come forward and counter his msg of hate? any rallies?

I am an avid reader of all major Pakistani newspapers whether they are in Urdu or English. Well let’s take an example of a Urdu newspaper since majority of Pakistanis in Pakistan read Urdu newspapers. Lets take Jang, the most published Urdu newspaper in Pakistan. Show me one single article ( Nazir Najee the only exception) in which there is a serious condemnation of these terrorists. Most of these columnists still refer them as mujahadins….And I really mean it, show me one single article……I am talking about Irshad ahmed haqqani, Abdul qadar hassan, Ata ul haq qasmi, Manno bhai and Amjad aslam amjad who are very well known and well respected columnists in Pakistan….(these days it is very simple to find their articles. Just go to Jang’s website and click on “your favorite columnists” and you will find a full list of their articles.) This is the attitude of well educated and intellectual breed of Pakistan. English newspapers have the same attitude with Irfan hussain of Dawn and sajjad mir of nation (I guess) a unique exception.
Now lets talk about the masses of Muslim world.... majority of them still believe that these terrorists are mujahidins. Come on…..we do not need to fight on this issue or call names to each other……instead we can do some search on our own (if we want to)….if you are in Pakistan, just go talk to your driver, go talk to the shop keeper you buy grocery from…go talk to your maliee….go talk to your cook….when u r sitting in a taxi, just strike up a conversation with the driver on this topic…..and you will find out what a common Muslim thinks of these terrorists.. A MUJAHID….and I know there are several legitimate reasons why a common Muslim thinks this way…but I believe that we Muslims ( especially educated ones) should start working on changing this pattern.
We should believe from bottom of our heart that these terrorists are the biggest enemies of Muslims….we should shake hand with our governments to curb these terrorists…and it is only possible if we believe from bottom of our heart that these terrorists should be defeated…..raha sawal USA ko harany ka, so for that matter lets stop the rift for 50 or 100 years…lets focus on equipping ourselves with science and knowledge, lets use their rescores quietly to learn more of physics and chemistry…lets develop our selves militarily, economically and politically and then we will talk with West…then u do not have to blow bombs so that they listen to you because they have to listen to you anyways….

Everyone has the right to his/her opinion so does Falwel.It might be totally opposite to your view .Just deal to live with it.
Jerry Falwell represents the most conservative faction of American Christians, but would be a moderate in Muslim cleric circles. So to follow your logic we would be in a position to say that you should criticize 50% of the mullahs if you criticize Falwell. You probably don't want to go there.
BTW, there aren't any goras who think an attack on mosque is legit any more that you think Palestinians attacking innocent Israelis is legit.

I have noticed, that the ones that talk about a change in Muslim attitudes, or as before a reformation in islam (ironically these guys dont even know the causes of the reformation), are the ones that have lost touch on the ground and are basically eating out of what the hands of Fox News.
The average joe knows that these acts are unislamic. Heck a 2 year old knows that. The problem is you lot equate understanding the reasons with supporting.
Just because you understand what reason or what they are doing, doesnt mean the actions are all of a suddenly now Islamic. Rather they stay unislamic. Nor does the fact that they are referred to as Mujahideens, take anything away from the acts which are unislamic.
It is a very simple equation. The guys are referred to as Mujahids. It identifies them as muslims and fighters for freedom. But they commit unislamic and barbaric acts. Ask any guy on the street that and they make that distinction.
