Re: Serious Cough

p.s. Happy Anniversary!

yeah we do the same , good 1

Re: Serious Cough

^yeah that usually works..sometimes, i mix a teaspoon of haldi in hot milk. That also helps my soar throat..

I hope she feels better soon..keep us updated.

Happy Anniversary!

Re: Serious Cough

Ahhh pneumonia, I had that and I know how bad it can be with the coughing. Unfortuinatley it will remain until the pneumonia clears up, but whilst I had pneumonia, I found the only cough syrup that only really worked (on the symptom not the cause) was 'simple linctus'. It's what they gave me in hospital, but can be bought over the counter at the pharmacy and is actually very cheap. Also it would help her get a better night's sleep if she slept more upright propped up with a pillow. Finally, sucking on a sweet like a fruit pastille also helps to surpress the cough.

Hope that helps!

Re: Serious Cough

no luck with the tests yet...no progress...tests are going on...she is tired of giving blood 4-5 times / day for tests and yet they can't find a reason for her problem...

so for now...another night to stay...

Re: Serious Cough

Oh goodness.

Please keep us updated. Insha'Allah all will be well soon.

ROFTLOL

Its something that you should remember and not saeen, and it does not have to be winter, can be any 3 mnths of year and has to be associated with productive cough and is called chronic bronchitis.

Re: Serious Cough

If the chest X Ray is normal and there is no fever, 90% chances are that she has one of the following three things

1-Asthma (she will need methacholine challenge test)
2- Post-nasal drip (no diagnostic test, just give antihistamine, and she'll get better)
3- Gastroesophageal reflux, tests are cumbersome, just start on losec 20mg * 2
Less likely she cud have eiosinophilic bronchitis or a small growth in bronchi that will need a bronchoscopy to discover.

Happy Anniversary saieen

Re: Serious Cough

^ At least it made you come out and reply in the thread with the right info :halo:

p.s Not going to argue with you as in I have only 2 yrs of basic science and from that I have learned Bronchitis occurs during winter time constant for 3 months. Im not challenging you nor you should mock my information like this.

Be a good Teacher if you spot a mistake.

Re: Serious Cough

^ I was worried that you are going to give her the same medicine that you gave to Shikra.

Re: Serious Cough

^ with Shikra I had to get even with something, thats why.

Re: Serious Cough

^what was that

aawww LL naraaz ho gayi, kiss and make up you two!

Re: Serious Cough

Saieen, just a suggestion...but you could go to your wife's favorite restaurant and have a favorite/special meal packed up for the two of you. Get a little nite-lite that looks like a candle, a red rose in a vase and you could have a truly lovely anniversary dinner together...even tho she's stuck in the hospital. My hubby did this for me one time and I have to say it was one of the lovliest mealtimes we ever shared together.

Best wishes and prayers for her speedy recovery.

don’t fight ppl…do wht spock said…however, instead of kissing each other…you can kiss me…afterall this is my thread and i need some cheering up too…

Re: Serious Cough

kisses for sara :hug::kiss:
Saieen, tell her we all wish her well!

she can't eat regular stuff...not until allowed by the drs....sure i can eat her share too...but i'm sure she won't forget it and that won't be good for future anniversaries and my plan of leaving behind my legacy...through kids...

Re: Serious Cough

:( ack yes I see your point....

Will keep her in prayers for a speedy recovery.

Re: Serious Cough

yeah, even if its minor coughing, you really have to watch what you eat!
