all bakery items makes u fat

so what can i eat in breakfast which can give me feeling of fullness as well

please give me suggestions :frowning:

Re: serious breakfast problem

just eat what you want after a good exercise. Why go on a diet?:)

Re: serious breakfast problem

omelette with low carb bread/wrap?

eggs are not high in calories but have good protein- 2 eggs, with veggies (green bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes etc) - spray pan with olive oil mist and you should be good. Plus its filling. Sprinkle some low-fat cheese if you want (or spice) to liven it up a bit!

Breakfast should always be healthy to give you jumpstart for the day, which ultimately should help you from munching against unhealthy snacks throughout the day!

Good luck :)

Re: serious breakfast problem

muesli

Re: serious breakfast problem

Oatmeal

Re: serious breakfast problem

Eat fruits or enjoy a smoothie.

Re: serious breakfast problem

yeh i ask my north indian frands this all the time - wtf do you lot eat for breakfast besides greasy junk? its like you guys don’t have any real wholesome healthy breakfast dishes like we do in the south. idli, dosa, appam, upma, uthapam, puttu, pongal, pesarat, etc none of which are fattening or sweet, and keep you full until lunch. :snooty:

Re: serious breakfast problem

Upma is the breakfast of champions :yummy:

Re: serious breakfast problem

I have heard tht you can take most calories in breakfast, even if you want sweet eat in morning, because you have rest of the day to burn those calories. I take paratha in morning it keeps me full all day n by evening I just take cereals wth milk without sugar.

you can have oats wth fruits in morning or switch to brown bread

Re: serious breakfast problem

And south Indians are sooooo healthy. ;)

Best policy is to eat less than or equal to calorie expenditure with balanced diet.

Regardless what item one consumes at any time of the day.

Re: serious breakfast problem

Been a while since I ate idlis…turned more into a poha person ever since I moved to Maharashtra. I better soak some daal and rice and get my wet grinder out of the closet today

Re: serious breakfast problem

Khatti, some parts of Andhra serve upma with ghee roasted Pesarattu. Combined with some fresh coconut chutney, its heaven. :yummy: You ever ate that combo?

Re: serious breakfast problem

Quaker's Oatmeal with low fat milk is the best breakfast you can get.

Its full of fiber, protein and good carbs, Will keep you full for long and it doesnt make you loose weight automatically but if you merge it with a good diet it surely will help a lot since it keeps you full and you eat less.

Re: serious breakfast problem

Oat meal with skim milk, boil egg or poached egg with whole wheat bread, fresh fruits and yogurt.

Re: serious breakfast problem

well given that even official papers since a few decades now refer to the hindi-urdu speaking areas as the bimaru belt, yes, south india has its health indices an order of magnitude or more higher for everything from infant mortality to type-2 diabetes than the paratha and halwa khors.

also not every calorie is the same when it comes to health. you have to get maximum nutrition with your limited calorie intake. if you inhale up 1000 empty calories from your typical greasy refined-flour breakfast that doesnt even covering 1/10th of your daily nutrient needs, that big hole is not getting plugged.

Re: serious breakfast problem

i use brown bread.....cook eggs and omelete in e.v.olive oil,
i make pancakes with wholewheat (brown atta)without sugar or very less if you want....no or very less baking powder....
and cereal with oats n fruits chopped in skimmed milk....

and a cup of tea ofcourse.....

Re: serious breakfast problem

Müsli Zindabad!

Re: serious breakfast problem

do u cook the oatmeal in milk ?

I used to cook oatmeal in milk with apple pieces and honey, porridge very healthy and full filling, I dont like the texture of this and I got tired of this.

Now I take a fry egg with two brown toasts, taste good and keep u full till lunch.

Re: serious breakfast problem

boiled eggs, omelette with tons of veggies, fruit salad, open faced sandwiches with things like avocado/smoked salmon/turkey/chicken, low fat muffins or substituted "pancakes", a parfait, cereal with skim or almond milk, whole grain toast with pb, breakfast wraps, low fat crust-less quiche, breakfast skillets with veggie sausages/egg whites/peppers.

Re: serious breakfast problem

Not really true and your statement is not based on the fact.

The reality is that cardiovascular disease is one of the leading cause of death in many parts of the world and this is also true for India overall.

In India South Indians have higher risk of in CVD compared to other areas.

Regardless, the South Indians are not so healthy as it was suggested by you based on diet comparison.

World Journal of Cardiology-Baishideng Publishing

There are studies to show that there is higher risk of CVD in South Asians compared to Caucasians and Chinese (in North America where all of these people reside).

I never said there was no difference in sources of calorie and there is a reason why I said balanced diet. That means I never said empty calorie is only factor one has to look at.

Balanced diet means one gets calories from various sources and consumes fiber, vitamins and essential minerals. More importantly the person should burn calories according to the consumption.

When I said regardless what items one consumes that means it does not matter what traditional item of food one eats, the diet has to be balanced.

Coconut is a big source of cholesterol. South Indians are known to have low HDL/high trigycerides and overall Indian subcontinent specially those who are small stature have small coronaries.
