Oh my god! these iba seminars are so awful. i used to go to sleep during these events. i have never seen a speaker at any iba event that was even the least bit amusign and exciting to listen to.
no ... recently seminars have been opened up for outsiders also .. this seminar has a very useful linkage with the layman student of pakistan .. any student coming from any other university as long as he can prove his identity will be allowed in ... it is not being made public because of the auditorium but soon steps will be taken to advertise the DLS series and let people in on a bigger note
are u a graduate ... if so i must agree with u :P i also sleep through them but if you hold interest in some fields for e.g. operations management .. than they do become interesting ... last speaker a week ago was this CEO of indus motors and he talked about operations management and his question answer session went on to about an hour .. that is what i call interesting ... if you are working in the marketing field i.e. if you are a graduate do visit IBA for the BUY.OlOGY seminar i must tell you .. it would be a blast ... world class speaker invited from Australia.. its this sunday 300 tickets sold out of 400 :( just a 100 left..
i studied at the city campus from 03-07, left in my last yr and came back to ny. and somewhat glad that i did leave. but i hadnt been to one seminar that i didnt zone out of after the first 15 min. usually when danishmand came to introduce the speakers, i would usually fall asleep. as a matter of fact the only thing that i actually listened to was the quranic verse a guy would say before the whole event started.
In today’s economic downturn, companies are facing their biggest challenge of the last 50 years. Consumerism may be a its peak, but how can you attract the consumer’s attention if your ad and marketing budgets have been slashed? And, have your agencies and marketing team been savvy and flexible enough to respond and look after the company’s brand and its bottom line?
In his groundbreaking workshop at the IBA City Campus, Martin Lindstrom will teach you to sell better, smarter, faster, and more effectively- which means sharper marketing campaigns, clearer metrics and measures, higher levels of accountability from agencies and a far more efficient ROI!
And for the first time, Pakistani Marketers will have access to this cutting edge concept at the same time as everyone else. By meeting and seeing Martin Lindstrom LIVE IN PERSON, you can find out how it is possible to predict the success of a brand without asking the consumer’s opinion or undertaking expensive research and agency fees.

lol sumorani .... ummm but the good thing that happened to IBA was ... danishmand left :P ... now its ishrat hussain the visionary that restructured state bank and is also on the world bank board for asian region... He is an awesome guy a real leader and visionary ... ALL HATS OF TO HIM
I came to IBA 3 years back when it was all studies... but now its what we say putting fun back into the life of a student ... i am trying to get the most out of IBA :P ...
yeh i know danishmand left and ishrat hussain came in. i hated most of my time at iba. every month there would be some new rule. i remember once they came out with a rule banning sleeveless shirts!!! that was all i was accustomed to!
the only way iba will turn into a great institute is if they kick out khalili a.k.a. 'machar'
oh yeh and zeenat ismail, i wish i could slash her tires and break the windows of her car.
those were the two people that pissed me off the most. and yeh they both hated me too.

Now I know why you could not graduate in four years. :D
yeh I studied there for three yrs then transferred to a school in NYC which transferred most of my credits so I finished getting both degrees in an additional 2.5 yrs.
ok ok .... so see i know u .. funny think we were at the same place ... when some iba'ns came and than more of them ... some people also came from main campus and we were like what the hell man .. its all IBA here :P so we were interested naturally in what u people were talking abt and i guess u talked abt NYC and so i thought u may be the one .. as i think i do remember u from uni as well ..
^I'm sorry, I have no idea who u r. I don't recall meeting anyone at kahva except my friends. Quite frankly it's weird that you would even listen to my conversation with my friends and remember I'm from ny.
