Well Al-Qaeda was patronized while they were fighting the communists which suited the West.
George Bush made a statement that the countries of the world are either "with us or against us " and as a result Pakistan decided to support the Americans and turned against the Taleban who they had previiously supported. Pakistan had a choice, whether they chose correctly is a matter of opinion.
Now back to my original point does Pakistan share some blame for this entire mess???
