Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

Dude,
No one is commenting on their performance. It is the attitude of players that is being discussed.

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

An example with a link would be in order.

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

Since it has been reported by other papaers as well so I think the news is true. Selected or not selected, agreed with the playing XI or not the point is it was the duty of the players to play under the assigned captain, in this case Smith. No matter how young he is, no matter how good or bad he is as a captain. The World XI were played handsomley to play the series and the least they could have done was show some professionalism. The ICC should investigate these incidents and if they are true they should be reported to the respective boards of the concerned players and action should be taken agaisnt them so people can learn to keep their ego's in check and show respect for the rules.

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

"Inzi burst into tears"

LMAO ROFL.

This is the funniest thing i have read in a long time. Man, i can just picture that too.

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

Everyone is talking about the duty of players this and that all the bull crap but no one care to talk about the SO CALLED DUTY of ICC or I guess the SO CALLED SELECTORS were performing their DUTY as well.

Simple is that "jaisay selectors waisay players" so no one is to blame and point fingers the whole idea was flaw.

rahi baat Inzi kay ansoon ke to wo aik alidha kahani hai, like the aloo. :)

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

I totally agree with you man.

The role of the players is to respect the captains decision. Even if you think it may not tbe best decision.
It’s like working for your boss, you act professional when you go to work, well Cricket is a job for these players and they must act like true professionals.

Inzi’s emotions may be true. He seems like a sensitive guy, who can let anything get to him.

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

If any of the players did not agree with the selction process of ICC the way to go is file a formal complaint via your cricket board. Acting unprofessional after getting selected is childish. This is the chosen profession of these players and they need to show the respect to the governing bodies decisions/rules. If Inzimam was unhappy about not being selected initially, he could have simply refused to go when the call came for him to replace the injured Sachin. Same is the case with Sehwag, who did he think the captain would be.. Dravid. If you agreed to play and taken money for playiong then fulfill the professional obligation.

Kerry Packer, when he started world series also had some of the best talent at his disposal. Those werent country vs country matches but hose players gave it their all. Infact it was after Kerry Packer that Imran Khan emerged as genuine pacer of class. Had Imran also been like one of these selfish fools his talent would have evetually surfaced but not as quickly as it did.

I use to like Inzi and still regard him as a class batsman but I am certainly dissapointed by his childish behavior. If his crying and refusing to field in 3rd slip stories are story I certainly would doubt his ability to lead the national side.

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

I do doubt he cried.

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

Regardless of Inzi’s childish behavior in that 3rd slip episode, this particular piece is either example of thirdclass journalism or a case of over-exaggeration on Smith’s part. ‘Burst into tears’? Yeah right  And if he had any problems understanding him, I am sure he is mature enough to know that even Sehwag or Dravid could help him out there. What load of bullcrap!

Re: Sehwag, Inzy scorned captain Smith

Dont get worked up about the iafrica.com piece - seems more a satirical spoof than something Smith dicatated verbatim. Check out the comments about Vaughan, Pietersen, Kallis, etc:
