If everyone knows that the relationship didn’t go ahead because his parents didn’t feel like it, then that’s a pure reflection on them, and not the girl. If this is the case, then there is no reason why anyone should seek revenge because no sane parent would want to give their daughter to such a spineless little boy. And their punishment is with Allah. Having said that, it is human nature to seek revenge, but what satisfaction would anyone truly get out of that? Her family will be happy for a week, month, whatever, but the pain of the broken engagement will always be there. Then again, when it comes to daughters it does seem like a whole different ball game and I’m pretty sure most parents would want to seek revenge.
