Is height that important anymore?
I have to say I have seen tons of Italian men and Euro guys with really tall girlfriends and wives. No issues.
So why are us desi hung up on height?

I dont feel there is anything wrong with a bit of a height difference …
.. but when i see a really tall guy with a really short woman … or a tall woman with a short man .. I kindda feel they are out of place 
But then , i feel the same way when i see a really young girl married to a much older man … and the other way round too

If I was taller, sure. But according to the other thread on advantages of being short, I’m characterized as short. So if he was shorter than me - we’d be the short couple and would have short kids:nahi:
My sister is pretty tall (close to 5’10") and she’d be okay with someone an inch or two shorter - but one or two rishtas have said no based on her being too tall. Could be some guys and their parents are more sensitive about height issue than girls.
Which reminds me. We had these family friends - the husband (my moonh-bola chacha) was about 5 '2" and his wife was shorter - about 4’11" - everyone used to call them “nikka/nikki” which my family told me meant shorty…Gosh how insenstive can your friends be, with friends like this who needs enemies…
I dunno njgal :no: … perhaps height shouldnt really matter when two people are good enough to get married … like it happens here in the west …
But i have heard short boys say that they feel some kind of insecurity being around taller girls 
When i got married , some of the family friends made both me and hubby stand next to each other to see who was taller even though it was quite evident who was taller , they failed to notice my 3 inch heels 
… It felt wierd …

I'm about 3 inches taller and 3 years older than my hubby. No matter at all. I dont wear heels for sure (hooray to be DONE with heels lol!!) otherwise, to me he's as tall as a mountain, as invincible as superman and as smart as einstein.
I'm also QUITE sure that we set tongues wagging - less so now that we;ve been so happily married for over a decade. But still. People love to gossip and speculate.

I dont think there is an issue, she is 3 inches taller then me and quiet honestly i dont see a problem, and yeah ppl will always talk so

I knew there were tall women, e.g. in uni basketball team but never ran into them. some may have been that height.
so for these 6' ladies, they were dutch, german, one italian and a few americans, oh and one desi chica, cool girl too, but no other desis that were close.

One of my friend is 5'11 and her boyfriend is 5'8 and they are crazy in love. I am only 5'3 so theres no way I can be with a man shorter than me.

I would contend that we're more hung up on skin color and earnings potential than height.
