Re: Secret Admirers...

Islam isn't that evil a religion, don't make it seem as if its against all notions of love and is out there to restrict your options and curb our freedoms.
If its not flirtatious and the person is indeed interested then I don't think there is any harm in either talking it further (of course to something constructive, that is marriage) or gracefully declining the proposal (whether its for friendship, marriage or mere relationship).

Re: Secret Admirers...

:D

I used to be a secret admirer of few students in our university. It was because they were very good in studies+games+religious practice+manners. (masha'Allah)

p.s. they were men and admiration was only in terms of inspiration

Re: Secret Admirers...

Well , in case of a Buff, babe magnet like me , who is built like a brick ****hhouse , they all prefer to do it openly.

Re: Secret Admirers...

It might have been one of the buddhas on this forum, just getting a good laugh out of it all.

Or a sicko.

How would people get your phone number? Did you post it here?

Re: Secret Admirers...

I never said that Islam is against expressing our feelings, I just said that those feelings have to be conveyed in a proper manner (and by proper I mean Islamic).

If a guy is interested in a girl and really wants to send her flowers, then he should get his Mum/ sister to give them to her.... doing it personally is not allowed.

Can you find that Prophet SAW did such a thing, anyone from Ahlul Bayt, his Sahaba (r.a), anyone from the taibeens? do any of the 4 major Imams allow for such things (or did anyone do this themselves) ? i think u will find the answer to be now. Theses are the ppl that us Muslims should be imitating as they are indeed the rightly guided... true giving gifts does increase the love in someone's heart, but b4 any action, we should stop an dthink if this is what Allah SWT approves of.

The point here is: if there is a chance that something might lead to sinning ( major or minor), one should avoid it completely... and inshallah that is better for us. Prevention is better then Cure right?

Wassalam

Re: Secret Admirers...

Pheeny, can you blame the guy? You're such a hawtie! Anyway, I don't understand the whole anonymous business, people should take the opportunity to tell someone how they feel, talk about missed opportunities. If it was me and I was single, I wouldn't just send you flowers, I'd show up with flowers and candy, demand that you ate said candy, then chase you around while you screamed in a very high pitched voice "don't chase me, I'm full of chocolates"

Re: Secret Admirers…

Lol @aahmed that made me laugh so much buddy…me and candies are great friends…plus the funniest thing is that I would most likely say something as random as that too…!

Well I never get ‘normal’ admirers…I always get stalkers, and wierdos :bummer:
