Re: Second wife =home wrecker always?
The mention of sex slaves was to draw attention to the fact that same as Muslims chose to abandon that practice even though it was permitted they can chose to abandon Polygamy. Society does have the right to mandate human rights. Most civilised countries have laws against discrimination based on sex, allowing men to to have multiple wives and not extending the same rights to women would be discrimination. Mostly women agree to the terms of a second wife under extreme oppression and duress. Many are financially dependent and a man can boot the older one out without any financial settlement and divorce is a stigma for her so the practice is highly abused. We as a society tell people what is wrong all the time, we tell them they cant marry children, they cant purchase sex etc.
