Congrats prototype. May Allah make it easy on you.
I am not sure but maybe all the excitement has gone away because of the uneasiness its causing you these days?
Although I had severe cramping my first month I was really excited. Now I keep on asking my hubby if we could just fast forward everything & the only thing that is keeping me going is that I am gonna have a baby in 6 months. Although its my first but if you ask me at the very moment I don't think I am excited. I rather wanna get it over with. I hope my feelings change with time.
I am in my 13th week & have had three really bad emotional break downs. All because of this whole nausea issue.
Past month has been really bad for me. I am hardly able to eat or drink anything. Although I don't throw up that much I am nauseas 24/7. Taking a shower is like the biggest task for me these days. Couple of things I tried that don't always work but do help at times are as follows.
For nausea. Salty crackers do help a bit. Keep them by your bedside before sleeping. If you wake up in the middle of night because of nausea eat 2,3 of them & then try sleeping. Also when you wake up in the morning instead of getting up right away & going to the restroom. Eat 4,5 crackers. Lay in bed for another 10-30 minutes depending on how fast you feel better, THEN go on about your usual routine of cleaning & all. I know eating before brushing your teeth is disgusting but it really does help. Also avoid getting up suddenly. I have noticed that the slower the movement its less queasy.
Cold apple slices (the green ones) are another life saver. Try to eat a few slices before or for breakfast. They do help.
As fas as eating & drinking goes. Now matter how hard it gets at least make sure you are drinking properly. Dehydration is not good for you or the baby & can also cause urine infection in some cases. In my case its always easier to drink really cold water or someone even suggested eating ice chips.
If drinking water is tough because of bad taste. Keep Popsicles in lemon or any other flavor handy. Fruit syrups. Even if you drink very less amount they have enough nutrition to last you for sometime.
Licking a cold lemon wedge also helps settle your stomach a bit. Even sniffing a whole cold lemon itself can sometimes help. (Goras & Desis equally swear by this remedy)
Try cold sprite. Only fluid I can imagine drinking even after a bad case of throwing up. Keep cold sprite handy at all times. For some reason it settles your stomach.
Try not to be empty stomach. Eat small frequent meals. I know the most toughest thing these days. But keep lots of different foods & drinks handy. You never know which one might suit you at that very moment. Try to fill your stomach yourself up every 2-3 hours.
Do not drink any fluid before or right after eating anything. Try sipping fluids throughout the day. 2,3 sips at a time. Whatever you can handle.
Avoid spicy & oily foods. Spice tends to produce gas.
Also if you can 15-20 minutes before having a meal munch on some salty potato chips. They tend to calm down you stomach acids.
Also if you crave anything anytime of the day (which I doubt you do these days) go for it. Don't worry about it being healthy or not. Its better to eat something than to not eat anything at all.
Just yesterday I got an acupuncture band. You can order it online if anything. They are supposed to help with nausea. I haven't noticed any difference yet in my condition since last night. But I have heard they help too. Some people believe its just a placebo affect but no harm in trying.
At last ask your doctor about Vitamin B6. My doctor just told me told me to get 150 gms of it every day. No one knows why but extra amount of Vitamin B6 during pregnancy is known to help ease nausea.
At the end. Keep in mind no matter how hard it gets its gonna be all worth it at the end InshaAllah & trust me sister you are not alone. Just reading your post made me teary eyed as I know how tough it can get. Hang in there. All this is gonna last for the most 14 weeks InshaAllah.
Good luck & feel better.
P.S Read Ya Salamu as often you can. You don't have to be in wudhu to read it. Also ask someone to give out sadqa under your name. It doesn't have to be a big amount. Just a little every day or week.
