Re: Second Marriage?
How is he patronizing towards her? He’s stated repeatedly that she’s a great wife, and has never complained about anything despite there being a strain in their relationship.
I know it’s really hard to imagine sharing your husband with another woman, but honestly, it’s doable. =/ My family is friends with a few Arab (Saudi and Bahrain) families and these men have married more than once, and their wives live together…happily. My mom has expressed disbelief to them on numerous occasions and they laugh it off…they find comfort in each other, “like having a sister” - their words. I can’t believe how women are reacting to this…just because we’ve lived in a society that teaches us monogamy is the only way, doesn’t mean polygamy is wrong/not doable. Sure it may be tough on the girl, but that’s if he approaches the situation really harshly. Rather than calling him names and saying he’s a beghairat insaan for wanting to marry twice, offer constructive advice. Our religion does allow for this - there’s nothing wrong with it.
PCG - I thought the reason for marrying more than once was bcos of lust…to avoid adultery. =/
