LONDON: *The Lords Cricket Test match fixing scandal has entered its final and dramatic phase, with the Scotland Yard’s investigation team failing to find any concrete evidence of match fixing.
** Responsible and reliable sources of Scotland Yard had informed on Tuesday that despite ‘the video and other proofs’ as provided by the British tabloid, no credibility has been so far established regarding the scandal so far.
*
Hence there have been no proofs that the main scandalous and shadowy character of match fixer, Mazhar Majeed ever had any contacts with fast bowlers Muhammad Asif or Muhammad Aamir.
Besides the video provided to Scotland Yard also fails to display the usual time and date formats as depicted in any such videos. Sources have informed that Scotland Yard feels that all no balls by Pakistani team during the Lords Test Match were delivered quite well before they were inducted in the video tape by the notorious Match fixer. However the video was closely scrutinized by Scotland Yard foe further evidences.
Sources have also expressed that Scotland Yard was also toying with the notion of a possible trap laid and executed by the notorious British tabloid, of indulging in false reporting in a bid to soil the name of Pakistani team.
It is also doubtful that the alleged notes as displayed (having dubious denominations) were really UK pounds 10,000 at all!
*
Replying to a question, sources informed that first information, lists and other proofs provided to Scotland Yard, claiming that Pakistani players did possess 1,50,000 UKL at all: a prize Scotland Yard and British police desperately sought during their joint raid. Other objects recovered from the rooms of the players also failed to yield any results or credible proofs.*
Investigators were also trying to solve the mystery, as to why the notorious British tabloid had published the report two days later, as the no-balls of Pakistani players were conducted on the (very same) second day of the test match.
Re: Scotland Yard finds no solid evidence of match fixing
Let's await further confirmation of this news through the BBC etc. - then we can breathe a sigh of relief, although I still think the players need to be investigated by the PCB...
Re: Scotland Yard finds no solid evidence of match fixing
well.........i mean it can really hurt our cricket in long term....inability of Scotland yard to obtain ample evidence to file a convincing case against our players does not necessarily suggest the innocence of these folks....and that is what i am afraid of.....the match fixing will continue to linger on in our team……they will be careful for few series but will get back to these tactics for sure…fully understand that allegations are just allegations unless proved in court but from what we have heard and seen in last few days suggests presence of fishy stuff in our dressing room and definitely warrants further investigation by PCB even if Scotland yard cannot pursue any further due to lack of credible judicial evidence…there is one thing that is absolutely clear with no ambiguity whatsoever and that is the rotten character of majeed…then why was this guy hanging out with our players for last 5 years or so? (no ambiguity on this aspect as well...he was friend with most of our players..Jang ran a report on this ******* and his brother on July 27th..afridi also warned about him and the list simple goes on).... Someone needs to answer that relationship....
Re: Scotland Yard finds no solid evidence of match fixing
This is a Pakistani website and from the look of it, the person who wrote it has watched all the talk shows we have seen in last two days and created his wish list.
Re: Scotland Yard finds no solid evidence of match fixing
did someone see the interview of that journalist, i forgot his name. he made some interesting points.
first, that this newspaper is a gossip magazine and it thrives on such stories. people who live abroad know that such magazines are common in the west and it is this kind of fodder that sells their papers. so shaming a team that is already under the cloud is something they would do.
second, if we look at the video, we will see that it is made as if orchestrated. why did the guy spread the money on the table. betting is never done that way. it is done through "hawala". how is is that thhis guy got in such a clean made tape.
the whole thing reeks of conspiracy. but we pakistanis believe anything that comes our way. especially if it is a newspaper from abroad. "angrez ne likha hai to theek hi likha ho ga."
Re: Scotland Yard finds no solid evidence of match fixing
People are innocent until proven guilty we jump on pak team before evidence came out including me. Now they saying that video could be made after game i don't know if this is true or not, if their is no evidence then what is the reporter and that mazhar majeed agent up to are they trying to defame pak nation or what?
