Scientist's shirt offends feminists....

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

That is exactly what he did, he probably never got laid either. What kind of self-respecting scientist would wear a shirt like that? Isn’t geek/nerds in now? All the jocks are wearing fake raybans that my granddad wore in the 50s. So I don’t think he has to tell us that Nerds are acceptable. Nerds are pretty cool, the other day I heard a couple of girls say “Oh I love how he solves the quadratic formula in only 4 seconds”. So I think things are looking nice overall for geeks/nerds. I don’t think we need a public display of hideous fashion to show that. What this dude was trying to do was say “Oh hey ladies, look at me, I am the “cool” dude yeah, lets go for drinks” But he never tasted the heavenly mana which befalls on us mere mortals before. But there is a twist, He is exposing his sexual frustration at women by saying “Oh yeah you guys wont date a genius scientists, not a prob, I’ll wear my naked chick T-shirt to the touch down party”. If he had a wife or a girlfriend you would’ve seen him wearing the most mundane of clothes. LMAO

Btw I kid the nerds/scientists.

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

On the one hand
On the other

So said the economist.

Thou hast covered both sides of the issue.

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

“He deserved it because of what he was wearing…”

Hmmmm… I wonder where have I heard this before…

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

^ Surely thou artn’t making a false equivalency between a deserved criticism and rape?

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

^ harassment and harassment.

Google “Matt Taylor” and instead of his achievements, you only get results for this stupid ‘controversy’.

Online blogs and magazines have demonized him just to get clicks. Sad times we live in.

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

The Google results are not within anyone’s control. Maybe, just maybe, the online wars would stop if folks would stop justifying his poor judgment.

Taylor’s apology appears sincere. The online defenders are probably adding fuel to the fire. Taali do haath se

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

I’ll stand with my statement buddy. It stands corrected for the female as well. If you wear provocative clothes you’ll attract malicious attention. The law the of the nature reigns supreme with humans in a bar as well buddy o pal of mine. If a gazelle is going to wander in the Serengeti most likely it’s going to get eaten.

If this world was run by women and men wore skimpy clothes showing their hairy legs out in public I’d criticize the dude for showing his legs or his hairy back. Barf

But you get my point right?

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

I’d agree with you.

I’m just trying to point out the double standards when it comes to online social justice warriors. If a woman posing (almost) nude for a magazine cover is ‘celebrating her sexuality’ then cut this guy a bit of slack too.

What he was wearing was inappropriate. Yes. Did he deserve all the tweetstorm of abuse he received? No.

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

In hast dost thou coverth my point, o Horatio o Horatio where art thou?

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

Bro again, he’s not living in Saudia arabia that he can wear whatever he wants and women have no right to criticize him. He has to understand that he lives in a western world where women albeit feminists have an equal say. Women have the right to criticize a freakin cupcake if they want to. And they should have the right to criticize.

I’m not against the dude or pro feminists either. What I am saying is that when and where men stopped being men? Why did men start dressing up as little boys? Women everywhere comparing guys are becoming more and more child like. We see it everywhere on TV in movies the sisification of the male form. The women even being skinny is shown taking down guys twice her size. They show guys not being able to act manly. Woman is being promoted as the dominate male form.

Why is that happening? Ask yourself, then this clown comes along. Instead of promoting that a male scientists has just landed a robot on a asteroid he goes out dressed up as a freakin Comicon character. I’m angry at this guy for dressing up as such because he let the women make fun of him. If he showed up in an armani suit he would’ve probably gotten some dates out of it. This is what I don’t get. Guys have stopped caring about their appearances. In the subway I see these dudes with freakin bushy unkempt beards, torn old leathery shoes and ripped unwashed jeans. WTF man! Dress like a real man, wear a suit, comb your freakin hair. Stop dressing up as a clown!

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

I agree with all you say. I already said that the way he dressed was improper. I also agree with what you say about today’s men.

My only question is this; Was his shirt so ‘offensive’ that he had to apologize for it?

In bad taste, yes. Offensive? I’m not sure.

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

I mean, if a girl wore a shirt with hair naked guys, would we be offended? As men we should be? But if that happened the “Man-Child” would probably be like “OMG DUDE LMAOO, check out her shirt… LOL”. That’s what the modern man has succumbed to. Any female attention is considered an offering from Aphrodite. Guys think that if women do anything nice for them it = SEX. If a girl wore a shirt similar to this but with guys on it, we wouldn’t be offended, because we consider even abuse from women sexual. THAT IS HOW MESSED UP the mind set has become. Men and women have forgotten how to treat each other!

I think if there were real guys, they would respect the female body and would never wear anything which would disrespect women. Would you walk around in Pakistan with a shirt of a naked lady? NO because there guys respect women, at least religiously. Because that’s what our religon tells us, to protect and respect women and not to take off their clothes. And certainly not put naked chicks on our shirts and walk around like we have accomplished something greater than landing a freakin robot on a 2 mile long asteroid.

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

Then he sobbed like a baby!

And, received a consoling pat from his buddy.

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

Shame really.

Re: Scientist’s shirt offends feminists…

The question is

Would a professor give a lecture in such a shirt. Those who don’t have a problem with would find this man’s dress code appropriate
