Scented Candles

I love them and have been in the habit of using them…particularly when cooking.

One problem that really bothers me is when the wick burns down into a pool of melted wax and the candle goes out.

Anyone face this?
What do you do to avoid or fix this issue?

Re: Scented Candles

havnt faced this with the stem candles .. are you using the block candles?

Omg I hate when it happens! I try and either pour out the melted wax or move it around to the sides so the wick has room to breathe. LOL

Re: Scented Candles

Hmm... I use scented tea lights and the candle stays lit for ages after all the wax is melted and liquid.

Re: Scented Candles

I stopped using regular scented candles and now use this flameless candle system

Re: Scented Candles

Oh I so know what you mean, how annoying!!! I pour out the wax after an hour or so while the cold water is running in the sink what that does is makes the wax hard so it's easier to pick up and simply toss it in the garbage.

Re: Scented Candles

Khatti and DA, I use candles while cooking so it absorbs the smell of all the masalas.

Do the flameless candles do the same ?

Re: Scented Candles

I have no problems with the masala smell...my Scentsy runs constantly and I have a pretty powerful exhaust system that is vented out...

Re: Scented Candles

We have open kitchen I just open my balcony door n no smell withing 5 mns, I lit my candles just before huby coming

Re: Scented Candles

First of all, you there need to be a ratio between number of wicks and diameter of candle. If its more than 1 inch in dia, it should have more wicks.

What my clever wife does is that instead of burning candles, she leave the jar on coffee mug warmer. It melts the candle and keep the air fresh

Re: Scented Candles

wow...so many solutions....thanks all.

I prefer the flame because it gets rid of the cooking/frying smells. For the regular air freshening I have the sense and spray and other timed sprayers all over the place.

I used to use the tea lights and yes, agree that they burn for longer than needed each time I cook....dunno why I stopped with those.....I think it was because I wanted to use up some candles that I received as gifts.

Re: Scented Candles

If you guys have a Bath and Body Works store where you live, I strongly suggest you try out their 3 wick candles by slatkin & co. They burn really well, they burn flat so theres no drowning of the wick in the candle wax. And the scents are long lasting and beautiful.

I have them all over my house and they're AMAZING!

I prefer the aromatic oils and oil warmers that u can get at the body shop, the fragrance gets out quicker and with the amount of oil and heat as levers you can adjust to how much you need at any given time. That works well with a coffee mug warmer too.

Re: Scented Candles

I thought masala smell adds to food taste. Running cold water for molten wad powerful air exhaust oil candle aroma - what is the impact on carbon footprint
