Say ALLAH not khuda

Re: Say ALLAH,not khuda

I think how we muslims understood what Allaah is 1400 years back in lands such as Sindh then we can even make Tarzan understand, and tell him its better to say Allaah as this shows our unity.

Why do you think the kafirs are against us on so many factors, did u get my drift.

Re: Say ALLAH,not khuda

I don't subscribe to this narrow view where a person has to be religio-linguistically correct to be a better muslim.

In Islam every action is judged by two things:-
1. Amal (Deed)
2. Niyyah (Intention)

If I say Khuda or Khuda Hafiz and in my heart I mean Allah, The True Creator of the Universe, then it is not going to be counted as something bad. However, if I mean something else then it's something to worry about.

Re: Say ALLAH not khuda

Point well taken.

Many followers of Islam tend to correlate Arab with Islam. (Is it any wonder uneducated Americans can't make the distinction?)

I believe it is because they feel they have to literally follow the ways of THE prophet in all aspects which refelcts Arab language, history, customs and culture.

Re: Say ALLAH not khuda

Seminole, there are lots of hard-core sunnis that feel just this way. And it goes back to the time period close to after the Prophet's death. There were some followers who literally tried to do everything as the Prophet did, and no one really tried to stop them I suppose. I guess it just didn't matter, because the culture was still predominantly Arab at the time. It is more obvious to us now, since Islam is no longer practiced just by Arabs.

I had a friend once who was a strict sunni, and she used to tell me of this one follower - and I don't remember his name - and how he thought it was an honor and blessing for his camel to walk the same path that the Prophet's camel walked. Um yeah.

I don't have time to get a camel. Am I going to hell?

Re: Say ALLAH not khuda

Very often we call Allah as “Khuda” or ‘God’ in English. Muslims have enough problems to focus on rather than get into debates like these. Moreover, Islam is not the monopoly of only the Aalims. It is Allah who is the author of the Quran and He alone can guide all of us. So let us not spend our time and energy criticising or debating over non-issues.
