‘Saudis give nod to Israeli raid on Iran’
LAHORE: The head of Israel’s intelligence service, Mossad, has assured Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Riyadh would turn a blind eye to Israeli jets flying over the kingdom during any future raid on Iran. Meir Dagan, the director of Mossad since 2002, held secret talks with Saudi officials to discuss the possibility early this year, a report in The Sunday Times said. The Israeli air force has been training for a possible attack on Iran’s nuclear site at Natanz in the centre of the country, and other locations for four years, the paper reported. The Israeli press has already published unconfirmed reports of high-ranking Israeli officials, including former prime minister Ehud Olmert, meeting Saudi counterparts on the issue. Riyadh has denied such reports. “The Saudis have tacitly agreed to the Israeli air force flying through their airspace on a mission which is supposed to be in the common interests of both Israel and Saudi Arabia,” an Israeli diplomatic source said last week, the paper said. Tel Aviv and Riyadh do not have formal diplomatic relations, but Mossad maintains “working relations” with the Saudis. A former US ambassador to the United Nations said it was “entirely logical” for the Israelis to use Saudi airspace. If this is true, it is utterly shameful for one muslim nation to allow the neo-nazi regime of Isreal to attack another muslim nation out of petty self-interests that revolve around greed for power.
This will further the divide between muslims across the world, and maybe set in stone the differences that have prevented Iran and Saudi Arabia to have friendly relations following Iran-Iraq war.

I hope that is the case. Saudi Arabia will stand to lose much if it gives the slightest of support to the zionists against another muslim nation. The gains will be short lived.

Yes, i get that. But the thing is, Saudi Arabia will still retain its sphere of influence regardless. They just need to stop being so paranoid about Iran. Some arab nations are shia or have a shia majority/power holders as it is, namely Bahrain which has a large number of Shias, Lebanon, etc.
The magnets are already there, so there is no point for Saudi Arabia to become totally oblivious and just concentrate on Iran alone.

Take for instance the case of Abdullah Shah Ghazi the sufi saint whose dargah is most famour and revered in karachi..

The issue is this. Muslims around the world are divided but the only thing which unifies them is their hatred of Israel and their passion for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
This issue has been the sphere of Sunni powers such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia. But they have not achieved any results as the Palestinians still don't have a state of their own and are still currently under occupation.
And in steps Iran which trains Hezbollah and Hamas and is more vocal in its criticism of Israel.
That is dangerous to Sunnis because the most dominant country in the Islamic World will be Shia Iran and their style of byzantine political system with a grand ayatollah.
To most sunnis that is more dangerous than Israel.
The basis for founding and sustaining the Saudi kingdom is that they pay lip service to condemning Israel but actually allowed its formation to preserve their own kingdom. They fought with and killed Muslims themselves.
It is very unlikely that Israel can use Saudi airspace to attack on Iran. Even though Saudi have disputes with Iran but Saudis are wise enough to the level that they won't permit Israel to use their airspace . (Unfortunately Pakistan gave blank check to US to use its airspace.) Further Iran has the capability to retaliate on Israel and Israel won't take this risk without US.
Anyway the turmoil in the current election of Iran was most likely plan and plot by Israel lobby in US. Israel is afraid of the second term govt. of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
It is also interesting to read that the recent riots in Urumqi China are ignited by a women Ms. Kadeer in US (read yahoo news).

See these rumours whcih lead to riots gain currency only in the fertile land where people identify theselves with some aline land in UIghurs case Turkey as opposed to place they are living in.
As long as that underlying issue of people being more chinese and less turkey is addressed these riots over flimsy rumours will keep coming up..
