Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid’s execution, hit back at criticism

LOL…

so no answer from you…too embarrassed to embrace your beliefs publicly i guess!!! and that is absolutely fine but then dont jump into every religious debate and become champion of islam…

ladies and gentlemen… make your own judgement!

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

phoenixdesi, please don't ask Diwana yes/no questions. It constrains him and leaves very little room for bad logic.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

This.

The West borrowed many of their ideas from Arabs, who had accumulated the knowledge of the Greeks, Persians, and Indians. The West, because of constant political struggle, had to evolve socially, militarily, and politically. The East was stuck with decadent empires that stifled innovation.

The West obviously has **some **things right. We can learn from them and evolve or we can become obsolete and irrelevant.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid’s execution, hit back at criticism

Off topic but

The other day I was telling my mother exactly the same thing, that most of these caliphates since khilaafat-e-Rashida were essentially dictatorships or one man show

However, this is not to say that I necessarily accept that Islam was spread by the sword

  • Muslims ruled Spain for about 800 years. Later the Christian Crusaders invaded Spain and wiped out the Muslims. There was not a single Muslim in Spain who could openly give the ‘azaan’
  • 14 million Arabs are Coptic Christians (i.e. Christians since generations)**. **Overall the muslims ruled Arabia for 1400 years. For a few years the British ruled, and for a few years the French ruled Arabia. Yet today, there are 14 million Arabs who are Coptic Christians. If the Muslims had used the sword there would not have been a single Arab who would have remained a Christian.
  • Only 20% of the population of India are Muslims despite the fact that they ruled India for about a thousand years. If they wanted to, they had the power to convert each and every non-Muslim of India to Islam
  • Indonesia is a country that has the maximum number of Muslims in the world. The majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims. May one ask, which Muslim army went to Indonesia and Malaysia?

well said...

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

To a reasonable person, the " big deal" and special circumstances would be obvious. Something about a fair trial and adequate legal representation?

I never understood why some feel the need to defend the indefensible.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

Assumptions, assumptions and more assumptions. That's all I see in your posts.

I can and will discuss any topic when I feel like it is appropriate time, not when someone asks. Sorry to disappoint you there.

Discuss one on one and no need to turn to ladies and gentlemen. Be a man! ;)

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

This was not a fair match up. Only one side was logical.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

Just a question because I'm not too familiar with this case ... Did Saudi allow lawyers and experts from her country in to cross-examine the evidence and defend her? Did they allow the court proceedings to be broadcast?

Lastly, what are the trends of accusations on maids for certain crimes vs conviction rate/counter convictions on parents? If I was investigating the case I would have three options open ... the baby was killed by the nanny, by the parents or she died of natural causes ... Is there enough data available to show that Saudis are under as much scrutiny as the workers are?

If not ... then I would be the first to declare the penal system of Saudi, utterly unIslamic ... but if they do have these in place and if the trends are not skewed then we might be looking at a fair trial ... I just don't know enough to say either way ...

Mothers themselves are not beyond such acts these days - especially since people of affluence tend to be raised without learning tolerance and patience and no sense of morals - I would not be surprised if on the Day of Judgement falsely accused people will be standing high in number and the accusers were the actual culprits ...

here is a source:
HowStuffWorks “Do you really stay conscious after being decapitated?”

This is not a religious issue. Beheading has nothing to do with Islam.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid’s execution, hit back at criticism

What’s the point here?

Why the need to post this after quoting me?

I only said the **facial expression on dead people don’t mean anything **since some dead bodies look like they are smiling and I gave you the term risus sardonicus as an expression of “grin”. Look it up please.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid’s execution, hit back at criticism

Do you perceive any of my post as being naraz? Really?

Thanks for the song. Graciously accepted.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

at this point we should stop pretending to be surprised by vile crimes like this.

slave exporting nations in south/southeast asia should ban recruitment activities until these gulf barbarians overhaul their labor laws/practices and ensure legal protections.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

i never mentioned anything called hanafi state in any of my comments i mentioned school of thought caliph followed, you have no clue about legislation, islamic economic or any serious matter this is clear.

so your deference of secularism when i stated it has caused economic and social disaster is the following

"islamic states"...and the best ones believed in secularism treating everyone equally"

wow amazing and you call that a defense of secularism fiction and comedy in one sentence thanks for the joke.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

Gulf barbarians ? dude have you even been to the gulf the asian workers get free rent and free food can they get even half that than in india or pakistan you must be joking if you think so.

they will never leave the money they get is way better than at home.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

I have lived in the Gulf for 4 years and have interacted with a lot of those "migrant workers". The only thing that keeps them in the Gulf is the money and even that is sometimes not given to them on time. Other than that they live under deplorable conditions, have to work on constructions sites in incredible heat for inhumane 16-hour-shifts and have no social life apart from work and sleep. It's not like they are getting "free rent and free food" for nothing. These guys are physical wrecks after 3 to 4 years of doing this kind of work.

Re: Saudis defend Sri Lankan maid's execution, hit back at criticism

thx for sharing... and for confirming gulf barbarians..time has come for people to stand up against these people....if nothing else we shd tell the world abt them via internet..this will be a jihad in itself
