How does an average Pakistani react / behave in presence of Arabs - any Arabs?
The way they suck up to them is disgusting!
The Arabs have brainwashed the muslims that since the Prophet was an Arab then all Arabs should be respected!
The Prophet came from a particular tribe and, in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries there are always many tribes each competing with the others and generally have no great love for the other tribes! So, this inferiority complex plays a great role for Pakistanis in their relations with Arabs.
This above concept when infused with 'Petro-Dollar' rich Saudi makes for a great attraction for the average person more interested in getting by and making a living!
Your point re: Holy Lands -- you should know that the ancestors of the present Saud family and the Wahabis/Salafis had plundered the holy sites, stolen rich artifacts and trampled on the Quran, because for the Wahabis the veneration & respect of tombs are deemed idol worship. They had, at one point, prohibited muslims from making pilgrimages to the holy sites!
In Pakistan, people take a lot of pride in their lineage, whether they are punjabis, kashmiris, pathans or baluchis etc. Its natural for one to side with a person with the same lineage as his in case of a dispute. Just as u would side with ur brother in a dispute, even if ur brother was wrong. Same is the case with muslims affiliation with arabs...they are connected to us via Islam, and moreover, they are from Prophet SAWs lineage. Thats the link that we have with them. Now whether its right or not is another thing. We cant make pakistanis hate arabs just cause u have a couple of reasons. And noone can make u like the arabs either. Just let it be. such controversy..sheesh.
I don't give a damn about any saudis. Far as Im concerned Pakistan should nuke that country.

I have also thought about this. A friend of mine's family recently moved there. My friend got very offended when I said several critical things about the way women are treated there, etc. etc. He said that I shouldn't criticize the country, as it is the home of the Kaaba, etc. Well, just because the Kaaba is there, does that mean they can do whatever they want?
Now the family is there and they can't stand living there, the mother can't do anything without the father, and they are all getting sick of it. My friend's mom says she is treated like another species, not even a human. No one will talk to her over there. I don't know how the Saudis get off doing this. I mean, on what basis? Women can't drive, women have to cover their faces, can't go out alone? Pretty bad!

That's the most common excuse get from people. So it is some kind of license which is given to them to treat other as sub-human.
The thing which is running most of the Gulf states is Pertro-Dollars, and thats it. Religion is a secondary issue, they know that the people who are working there are working for Riyals and not for the Harem, so they dont care...but we still think that if they were the first relatives of the prophet.
There where 68,000 Pakistani in Kuwait before the war 1991. about 80-90,000 Indians and others from Srilanka and bangladesh, and all these were called 'Raffique' which means campanion, but the way it was used it meant lower class people, and the same was never used for the rest 0.5 million arab population.

My friends, I, yes, I, have lived in an arab country for 17 years, and I can tell you with certainty that these arabs, the so called guardians of Islam, are on the same evolutionary step as roaches. These Quran thumping cave people have nothing better to do than to interpret Islam in ways that suit them. Women are treated like dog poop, in fact worse.
Where in Islam, my habeebi's, does it say that women cannot walk with their husbands? Where in Islam does it say that women cannot drive? Ok, back then there were no cars, but does the Quran forbid women from driving bull carts or camel thelas? NO!
Yaa ikhwaan al muslimeen, this pond scum, that we call arab, has no concept of justice, if you're an expatriate in their lousy country, you're going to be arrested, charged, executed, for crimes that are commited by their own people, they HAVE to put forth some kind of illusion, an illusion of justice, so what happens? Our Prophet was an Arab but he was a unique person chosen by Allah; it could, very easily, have been somebody else of another ethnicity.

I didn't know the foreign workers in Kuwait are called 'Raffique'; yeah, I would be pissed too. If Pakistan were to protest, the Kuwaitis would just write up a cheque for "some dollars" and that will be the end of discussion.

Guys, are we talking about the land or the people. We all know that Islam does not give preference to an Arab over a non-Arab. But we have to admit few things. That is the only society left in the whole world with the least crime rate, no corruption, no theft (in general), no bribery. You can leave your shops open and unattended (where else in the world you can do that). At least 90% of the people pray 5 times a day. No prostitution, no liquor, no gambling. Which other society in the whole world can claim these attributes. For sure they have there weeknesses, but who is perfect. There is nothing wrong in respecting someone for his/their qualities. Respect does not make respectee (if that is even a word) smaller than respecter.
But nobody siad that Islam gives preference, it the arabs, who based on being arab and Muslims give them selves prefrence over non arabs and specially non-arab muslims.

One more thing...if you follow the RIGHT islam(whats was done by mohammad PBUH and his companions and follow quran and hadith..you are just as close to allah as other person from different race is...all you need to do is read the quran and see what allah says about matter when it comes to race and colors of ones skin...it JUST DOES NOT MATTER what color you are what matters is what do you do in front of other and alone...do you do good deeds or bad..do you follow the TRUE islam given to you by allah in quran or you make up your OWN things thinking they are GOOD DEEDS To doo...try to look beyond the colors and try to look what we do not what we are.
