How is that remotely relevant
She spoke about family abuse BECAUSE she left Islam. That is the bottom line. She has every right to stay in Islam or leave it. Any honest person knows that in Saudi Arabia you as a Muslim don?t get treated well if you leave Islam.
To yoy toy she played bluff. Did you just pull that out of..l
Leaving Islam s a CRIME in Saudi Arabia. Punishable by death. Granted no one has been put to death for this for last 25 plus years. But to doubt that a person leaving Islam in Saud Arabia is lying when she says she is being abused by her family for that reason. Why would anyone doubt her statement. And go to the ridiculous extreme of calling her actions a threat to Islam? As opposed to recognizing there is threat to her safety? Wow.
Teenagers are prone to making rash decisions, they?re not capable to fully comprehend the effects of their decisions.
Anyone asking why a teenage would take such a drastic step. Well, lot of teens despise societal norms, rules and restrictions. Their thrill seeking, rebellious instincts compel them to spur of the moment actions which most grown up adults would classify nothing but acts of stupidity.
An 18 years old claiming to be rescinding her religious beliefs, yah and people are to take her seriously on that?? LOL. In most households, a little slap across the face and life goes back to normal.
She seems media/tech savvy, has access to gadgets/phones etc. If she claims her family was physically torturing/abusing her, her life was in danger, how come she never recorded/took evidence of that grave abuse?
Her family taking her to Kuwait on vacation, her being able to jump on a flight to her freedom all by herself, does not look like she was living an enforced, restricted life. But it?s interesting to see people are quick to jump on the bandwagon to condemn the Saudi society/her family/Islam for putting her through abuses without even an iota of proof ever been produced IF she was indeed being physically abused except for her own words.
?An 18 years old claiming to be rescinding her religious beliefs, yah and people are to take her seriously on that?? LOL. In most households, a little slap across the face and life goes back to norma?
A slap across the face for someone making decisions re religion? 18 year olds are smart enough to make their own decisions on faith or lack thereof.
Nope, 18, 19 years old do not have the mental capacity yet to exercise good judgment, make informed decisions and be able to grasp the repercussions of their actions. It is not until into their 20s that humans have fully developed brain that gives them sound decision making capabilities.
A slap across the face for acting silly. Her proclamation of rescinding her religious beliefs is inconsequential.
?But the most noteworthy part is that she doesnt like all the limitation imposed by Islam and implemented by Saudi Govt.
I would say, this trend will bring more people come forward and follow the suit. Go somewhere, seek asylum, tell them you are abused by the religion.
While that may be happening or no is a separate story, but the trend is dangerous.?
Here is the quote from your original post Sid. The trend is dangerous you say. You also say she doesn?t like limitations posed by Islam. Trend is dangerous to what exactly Sid.
facepalm not at the post but at some comments.
Where is the quote that I said “Its a threat to Islam”. Do I need to repeat it? Or should I define what the quote actually means. Ok let me help you out here as well.
Below is the quote of one of your actual words.
Got it?
24 hrs gone and you havent provided the qoute yet.
Which ofcourse you cant. Since you could fabricate so much so.
And it requires some level of sanity and shame to admit a mistake and say ok you interpreted wrong. Not expected it coming either.
One thing I would repeat though as said earlier: Your lack of comprehension isnt my problem.
Anywaz, I’ve schooled you enough.
Now go ahead twist some more words, stories etc. Thats the best you do afterall.
Don?t play dumb. You stated this is a threat. Connecting the dots, based on context and your post, any reasonable, person will conclude you meant threat to Islam. That is what I concluded.
I asked you a direct question. If you didn?t mean it wa a threat to Islam what exactly did you imply the threat was to.
so answer me - what was her action a threat to? To hersel? To her family? To Saudi Arabia? To what? Don?t expect me to read your mind. You used the word threat. I concluded logically you meant threat to Islam. If I concluded incorrectly it is up to you to state honestly what you meant it was a threat to. Kapish?
ok. got it SID but honestly this debate can get pretty tough if i start pointing out number of things which Saudis practice in Saudi are actually from Islamic scripts and they are merely practicing it. now one may argue that those Islamic orders are not followed in proper contextual format (that is our last resort by the way) but lets leave it for some other day
I agree its a complex debate because they have adopted their own version of Islam which is so divided within themselves that a lot of it is not applied on their elites or royals as we all know.
Thats why i tried to explain, that if someone wants to blame Saudis ok fair enough, lets take a ride. But taking a aim at faith only is plain wrong. Just like we can challenge the ruling issued by vatican but we cant start cursing out christianity
yaar, west is not stupid to start awarding citizenship to everyone. that she was 18. that she was first one to create such panic and that it got so dramatic are all unique attributes. if i try the same stuff, they gonna put my ass in jail ![]()
I hope she doesnt get lured in to the consulate for some form and end up like Khashoggi…
More power to her but this whole thing has become a meme. Uploading “yummy bacon” snaps makes it very attention whorish.
You really believe that West is genuinely concerned about human rights issues in any place in the world? Lol
Hypocrisy is they do it in the nane of human rights while they want to overcome a threat they sense from Islam otherwise you know there are many other places in the worls where West can exercise these “greatest” moral values of protecting human rights.
the potential threat has hardly anything to do with extremism as West keep everything under surveillance. Morever West can stay away from middle east and gulf unless they want to safegaurd Israel interests and match the greed of resources with Russia and co.
