That Islamic sect doesn't follow the traditional Islam, they came after 3 to 4 hundred years after the Prophet(SAW).
PS: I don't consider myself a modern muslim but a traditional one.
Read up on Sahabiya's lives who took part in wars and fought and took part in political process.
In prophet's time there were no muslim sects. Sects formed after his death. So the time line doesnt matter.
And you are right every one should increase the knowledge by reading including you. Now I have read much of Islamic history through out my life and continue to do so whenever I can. May be you need to do the same. BTW did you ever lived in Saudia to make claims like you do? Coz appearently ppl who live there have quite a different opinion.

People who lived there have different opinions, some say it's fine some say it's not, this thread is the example.
And yet Islam remains... for most muslims... nothing but only about women and sex. Wish the expat residents in these countries could learn more than just these two topics.
sigh
Bilkul,Saudia mai "islami mol" nahee hai kyukai waha tau larkio ka abortion rate bohat kum hai doosra waha school kai bacho ko masturbation kee videos bhee nai dikhai jati . Bilkul "islami mol" nai hai !
Im guessing that you are another teenager in this thread still being mama-fed?
If YOU have not seen something personally does not mean others' people who have are lying or are biased. Okay baby?
Ignorance is a bliss. In this thread, by immature kids / teenagers, it's just getting funnier.
The last para is the most ridiculous. Yeah nobody here denied that locals, being locals, do not have better opportunities in all terms than the expat community. And with regards to education getting better, I am hoping with the speed of 'improvement', soon we'll have all the young students from around the world go to saudi universities to obtain their professional degrees.
I'm tired of listening such silly things. This is what I call 'prejuidice'. Every country has it's own law & order noone critisizes the western culture and environment then why people spread rumours about the arab countries especially Saudi Arabia. I'm also a broad minded person and was born in KSA still come here every year, I never saw any sort of thing which can prove that women are bound or imprisoned. I believe that women here, are more secured than they are any country. This place is perfect for a woman to live. They don't drive then what is the big deal? People are bound to give respect to the ladies. Women are provided all the comforts of life they need. Saudi life for a woman has been exagerated and I simply don't agree with it.
As far as the education is concerned then Although they don't have good institutions for the foreiners. KAA University, King Fahad University are the best universities but only Saudi ppl are allowed to get addmisson there. The level of education has now been improved here.
1 - the most liberal city in saudi arabia which means less muttawas
2 - most multicultural city in saudi arabia
3 - close to religious sites
4 - very beautiful city with nice beaches
5 - great shopping and food
6 - saudis that live there are nice and not like the dumb saudis that live in riyadh
oh yara therez nothin like tht seriously i think .noone can judge better den me becoz i ve xperiences of both countries ,talking bout ksa,or dubai luk mahol is wut u create or adopt ..it depends on u ,negative n positive to herjaga hi hota hai..my sisters is married in ksa n she goes whereever she wanna go wid her kidz or friendz but in abaaya..now im living in london but i consider ksa as a best place for islamic values ,it doesnt mean i cut all my islamic activities here in london but it gts bit tough to perform as life is very fast over here.
inshort where ever u go where ever u l ive spread love n happiness n always be happy .
First you need to grow up Mr/Miss. Noone is asking you for your criticism, if you think you are mature enough then come up with some "Tehzeeb yafta" sort of criticism.

I fail to understand why people like Ambassador forget that they were teenagers once too. So what if some people in this thread are mama fed? Were you not too once? Or did you have another way of growing up? Please share, thank you.

welll,, if u think it is getting funnier why don't u just laugh and stop writing here..
I totally agree if something is getting on someone's nerves and something you are finding funny then why make a fool out of yourself infront of mama fed teenagers. Or why are you subjecting yourself to be made a fool out of by mama fed teenagers.
What kind of criticism is that care to explain? I'll try to mould my views if that's what readers here find easier to understand.
And 2ndly, I am not here with my views because someone 'asked' me to be here, okay?
nightingale, First off, you can post with your usual nick I'll be okay with that, really! What are you scaredof? It's just an online forum.
And with regards to being a teenager with stupid views if someone would tell me the practical truth of life, I would try to learn from others' experience which would make me have realistic views rather than continue to beat around the bush as is the case here in this thread.
If you're looking for much descriptive details, yeah I was mama-fed untill I was 4 and since, I've been going through the growing up process. I am sure the teenagers in this thread would learn the hard way (good for them) as they're clearly merrily illusioned.
Hard2Understand, wrong word. I should have said "RIDICULOUS".
nightingale, "made a fool" of myself? Where, how. When did that happen?

A long time ago in the 80's, their Arabic channel (Channel 1) would do a test transmission in the morning. During that, they would play this music in the background. I think it was only one guitar, no drums or piano or anything. That music still plays in the head sometimes. It was so catchy. I have tried to find that music, but don't know where I would even find it. when I mentioned this to some people who lived there, they know what I am talking about.
