Saturday Night Special on GEO

It was played on Tuesday at 4:30PM EST per their schedule. It’s a drama series. Yesterdays special was called “Kaash” starring Sajid Hasan (nomi), Sawera Nadeem (nyla) and Iman Ali (maha).

Who watched it?. I thought it was very interesting.

Kaash is good. They showed it on Saturday afternoon my time as well. It was really sad actually.

Oh ok. SO i guess this was a repeat yesterday.

I watched it saturday afternoon too. I think they show these long plays /tele films every saturday afternoon. Was good. Not your usual run-of-the-mill storyline.

Yeah, it was like 1:00 a.m. Karachi time when it was shown ... or something like that. They showed the drama in its entirety and then showed Love Stories after that. I like that drama too.

Kaash was good cause it was not your typical drama.

I missed the love story. I think I went out after Kaash. What was it about?

Back to 'Kaash', I found Nomi's character to be quite fluff when he told Maha as she was leaving at end that he will need her support. You dumbass, your wife is dying inside, NOT DEAD YET. Nyla asked him to open up the curtains to let the light in and he sees Maha. I guess the director was making a point there. She asks for light to come in and he steps outside. Maybe he was the darkness in her life. I don't know. Why was it named 'Kaash'?. May be because Nomi wished kaash he could go back in time and do things differently which he actually did say. But then why did he show interest in Maha in the end?

Love Stories is a seriel that has a different romantic story each episode. The one on Saturday was about two single parents who are neighbours. Sorry, I’m no good with the actors’ names. :stuck_out_tongue: The woman was a divorcee whose husband ran-off and left her with two kids. She was living with her mother in Lahore. Their neighbour was a single father whose wife had died the year before. The girl’s mother keeps wanting to set them two up together but the girl is terrified of getting ‘involved’ again cause she doesn’t want to get hurt. So, she keeps brushing him off and is pretty rude to him.

Eventually, they spend time together and grow fond of each other. She’s still afraid though, pushes him away, packs up her stuff and leaves for Karachi. Before she leaves, he professes his love for her but she rejects him anyway. Eventually, she realises she was wrong and comes back afterwards.

I liked the part where he tells her how much he loves her. She’s cold as ice and he’s standing there baring his soul and crying. It was quite emotional cause he was very convincing.

I’m pretty sure next week’s episode will be a different story.

Funguy, it was called Kaash cause it was about his regrets.

I was pretty amazed at that dialogue too! Since when have you gotten into all this critical analysis and symbolism decipherment!!!

I think the title has to do with regrets and unfulfilled desires in all three characters' lives. As for him showing interest in Maha again, she was his first love wasn't she? I guess the sparks didn't die. I suppose they never really do. And she comes back in his life at a critical stage, refreshing old memories when he is now in need of emotional support and companionship... well almost...hence the renewed interest.

I don’t know what those two words mean, they sound ‘big’. I only watch dramas.

Sajid Hasan’s acting is just so superb. He is a genius who never got the appreciation from Pakistani audiences.

And Iman Ali  (Iss kambakht kau tau naame bhi nahee change kerna hoga…Iman sai)

The drama was a little too chick-flick for me. I just couldn't stand it. I hated it. I hate triangles. I hate it when one of them has a fatal illness and is about to die. I hated movie kal ho na ho for the same reason.

i thought kash had a good story..good to see that he lost both the girls.well i am not happy that naila died but still..and i like the background muziq and songs..i wonder who was the guy singer ..does anyone know???

Background was Nicos 'Secret Love'

Come to think of it the track played goes quite well with the play!

These kinda drama's frustrate me!
I think they show too little 'real' affection b/w husbands and wifes. I don't even know how to explain.

I watched it cuz nothing better was on (and I knew someone was going to open a thread about it :p )

Shinoo I suppose you like the over done affection between Samina Pirzada and Javed Sheikh :D The woman would be on top of him if she could help it! And as FG said they weren' exactly on an intimate level to begin with so what they showed was fine.

It's funny you brought this up. While watching 'Kaash' I thought the interaction between a couple was much more realistic than the brother-sister scenes on PTV dramas. I think the scenes were just appropriate to the plot. Anything more would have been an over-kill.

In PTV, they show a spouse relationship by placing one of the two on bed and the other one combing his/her hair at the dresser mirror and talking thru the mirror.

No not at all overdone!
Like I said I dont even know how to explain. It just seems fake to me, that’s not how real marriages ‘work’. Anyhow this drama was just an example, it wasn’t really that bad. I’ve seen more ‘frustrating’ ones :-/

:hehe: That is soo true!

and sleeping at the opposite ends of the bed backs towards eachother. I guess after a few years of marraige that is how it is!

I don't think he was in love with his wife .... which is why there was very little emotion involved. That and the lack of any 'real' communication between them throughout their marriage. In that sense, I think the intimacy level shown was fine.
