Sars Benefit Show in Toronto

Sars benifit show in Toronto feature bands such as the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Rush, The Guess Who, as well as many others is currently going on. There are roughly 500,000 people at the show. Apparently it’s the biggest tournout for a 1 day outdoor show in history.

Those who read this tomorrow, if you were at the show, let us know how it went.

yeah its pretty jam packed around my University area as well which is about 15 min drive from Downsview park....people are parking their cars there and heading via shuttle buses for the show.

I can only imagine the fans at the very back of the park. They only see the show on screen, and hear the music a few seconds later than people at the front :D I'd never go to see a show of that magnitude.

The entire downtown area around Union Station has been swarming with people since 7:00 a.m. this morning and it was only getting worse as I left work at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon.

I saw Keith Richards last year downtown. He walked by me with lots of security going into some restaurant. He actually looks younger in person.

It takes 30 minutes to walk from the entrance to the stage.

it was actually synched...a few coworkers went to the show, and all of 'em luved it...asid it was very well organized...no problems getting in or out...and a very decent crowd, considering there were 500,000 ppl...

Most of the staff went and the boss enjoyed the scantily clad women (thats why he went there). I hear it was a blast. The only problem was the water supply in the begining.

As I suspected, Justin Timberlake was pelted with bottles during his set :hehe:

Shows to that magnitude are simply disgusting. Port-o-Potties have lineups literally a mile long, so people end up urinating on the field :yukh: Besides, why go to the show to see bands on a jumbo-tron, what’s the point. People on the stage look like ants.

I guess it’s for a good cause, so that’s cool. It also helps the western Canadian beef industry with 250,000 hot dogs, adn 250,000 hamburgers stocked from Alberta beef.

i know man…the AC/DC crowd killed him  some of the bottles weren’t even filled with water…there was other stuff in it :pukey:

he was still a good sport bout it…said he wouldn’t want to c him on stage either if he was there for AC/DC and Rush  :hehe: 2 bad he realized it a lil 2 late

yup…they started the cleanup op this morn…said it’ll take 'em a couple of days to get it all restored to the original condition…but it still wasn’t as bad as world youth day…that was just terrible!

:hehe: Not surprising given the line-ups at the bathrooms.

:hehe:

What happened at the world youth day?

Toilets all over flowed ... Idomo .... a boutique furniture store (classy European stuff) was located close to Downsview Park .... all the pipes apparently burst and their merchandise was ruined.

Legal action is currently in progress.

Just heard about it in the news.
It must have been a treat, 450,000 people, I think thats more then Woodstock.

There were over 500,000 people. It's in the guiness book as the largest one day outdoor festival in history.
