I like silk but the plaits are very hard to make the fabric keeps slipping
cotton ones are nice for daily wear

Some very beautiful saris Anchal…post some more.
Wearing the sari gujrati style (with pallu brought over the shoulder to hang in front) is very form flattering. But only if done correctly. Otherwise it can make you look huge!! I learned the technique a couple of years back when Ibrahim and I joined another couple for a garba (a worship ritual performed with bhagti geet, dancing and daandiyaN).
Another style that is shown in one of the pics you have posted is where you don’t have very many pleats at all. Where there should be pleats, the sari gets wrapped twice around you before it goes over the shoulder. I remember seeing Saira Bano and Asha Parek dress like that in some movies from long ago…that is very slimming but difficult to walk in. Kind of makes you feel like a mermaid…

Anchal, thanks for posting such pic's of such beautiful saris. There are all kind of silk saris some slip but many are quite soft..crepe silk and satin silk to name some..Chiffon is also a silk thread..
My favorite are temple and kanchipuram (south Indian), Patolla (orissa) Baluchari (bengal) Punchampuri (gujrati), Chiffon. I will post the pic's when i have more time to surf the net and find them.
Cotton ones are nice but they require lot of care and maintance and look like a rag if worn more than few hours...for that reason I never wear cotton ones.
P.S. Black ones u posted are very nice...i love to have some of them, maybe I will get some on next visit to India..
