Re: sari for valima?
Did not know you can get matching shawls with Saris, Muzna is it only a Shadi thing or can you do it with a dressy one to wear like a shawl/cover-up?
Hubby just brought a sari like this from India for me.
It has a dupatta/shawl made of exactly the same fabric with exactly the same embroidery on it.
So you have the pallu on one shoulder and the shawl on the other....looks very elegant.
Unfortunately Ibrahim no longer likes the colour of the sari.....he wants me to just sell it.

Re: sari for valima?
hey everyone,
I was wondering has anyone worn a sari on their valima, or know of anyone who has i dont feel like wearing a lehenga, i already wore on on the engagement and will be wearing one on the shadi
DO you know of any good stores where i could buy a sari in karachi
yes, my khala wore a sarii in her valima..and you could get saris in designers' boutiques offcourse..other than that, there are tens of hundreds of shops which sell saris ..you should drop by malls such as The Forum, Dolmen Centre, Park Towers, Haideri etc.
Re: sari for valima?
I love saris.. I am gonna wear a sari on my valima whenever that happens :D and I will design my sari by myself :D
Re: sari for valima?
I wore a sari for my civil ceremony. It was ivory with hand bead work on it. My mum got it from Dehli in the mid 90s! Ha ha! Im glad she did cos the stuff i saw in the London stores i really wasnt loving so i was glad she got it yrs back. Id neva worn a sari b4 and i was literally pinned into it. I liked wearing it tho and have worn them to weddings since i got married. When i finally get around to posting my wedding pics u can see.
