To an individual, you can only be offensive or funny. Even if your statement is offensive to even one, you failed. That is what I believe. Of course i am talking about the intelligent audience and not over sensitive loony toons.

Ah, but it’s the over sensitive loony whom we cater to most often. Rational, reasonable people will see something offensive and move on.

And yes, a joke is likely to be offensive to someone but you could say that for many attempts at humour. A joke in a serious thread could be considered offensive by the OP, who may want serious replies only.

Must be the reflection of real world, and I am equally guilty of doing that, but it seems that on GS, we all are becoming more sarcastic in the name of being witty. Our come backs and snappy remarks have very little or no humor and more insults.

And what is with the “like” feature? Instead of using it to genuinely like a post, it has been used in the context of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”, so if I don’t like you, and Mr x does not like you and he made fun of you somewhere, then I am going to go and like his post.

P.s. I am not guilty of the second one. I hardly use the like feature.

Is it just me or you have noticed that too?

People seem to mention their opinion and some other person gets snappy because they feel personally offended, people need to learn that someone who has a different opinion to you isn’t against you or attacking you.

Everyone has their own personal opinion and we should learn to respect others opinion.
Beside how boring would the world be without different opinions; we would also less likely find new inventions/solutions if everyone is so agreeable to one perspective or idea. But i like how you have mentioned this because you have let others possibly be aware of their behaviour

Geela is not a term that can be used on its own, it is a term to describe a very specific type of uncle, or an uncle displaying some specific characteristics. It’s like a dude wearing a thin silk shimmery maroon shirt with banyaaan underneath and sweat around the armpits and chest, button undone and the chest hair poking above the banyaaan have a shimmer about them due to the medallion and sweat. He is also sweating profusely and used a Rumaal to wipe strand of sweat on his face. A used Rumaal has been folded and put around the back of the neck. Spitting chaalia and paan while whistling Bollywood songs and checking out girls.
As he gets up to leave there are sweat stains..on his butt. The trousers are off white.. But maybe they used to be bright white once. Now whether that is sweat local to that location or it’s sweat that has traveled down the back and congregated at the butt area is not something you want to investigate. The gentleman likes gold teardrop shaped aviators with green lenses, black penny loafers with a gold metal keeper. He also has a gold textured cigarette lighter and takes out a crushed cigarette box and takes out one bent and twisted cigarette .. Tries to light it with his lighter but it does not work so the shakes it to try and make it work then gets a pack of matchsticks to light it but they too are soaked .. So he keeps trying until finally one lights up..victoriously he sits back down and slouched, crosses his legs with the trousers riding up the calf for you to see that he is wearing ankle high gym socks and leaving a gap of a few inches between the cuff of his pleated and cuffed loose trousers that are tapered at the ankles and the tip of the inside out gym socks.. He sees your shocked stare and winks at you..tries to blow a smoke circle but drools out some remnant paan instead, takes the Rumaal on his neck, wipes his chin..the paan drool that falls on his shirt is camouflaged due to the color.

Those are among some key characteristics of a geela uncle.
