Saraiki Words

re: Saraiki Words

Yes, different accents according to areas but the main language, Saraiki is spoken in all of the Southern Punjab.

re: Saraiki Words

Isn't there difference between the Saraiki spoken in Multan and RahimYar Khan?

You are right that different accents and dialects are spoken in different areas. Saraiki as spoken in Sindh contains many words of Sindhi and it seems that only pronouns, etc are Saraiki

re: Saraiki Words

^ many Punjabis in Rahimyar Khan therefore the accent could be a bit different.

re: Saraiki Words

Yep yep. Listening to some various Seraiki videos on youtube, some of them I understand perfectly. Others I can't understand hardly anything.

re: Saraiki Words

Saraiki and Sindhi is almost same only 20% difference or less.

Even people in Multan have different dialect compared to rest of the southern Punjab.

It makes me laugh the way people in Multan say

Hik waji khari hay — Means 1 Baj gaya hai.

and they call knife ------------> Chakku

:omg:

re: Saraiki Words

Hmmm, we also have the word Chaku in Indian Punjabi. There’s a funny old boli that goes:
Baari barsin khatn geya si, te khat ke liyan da Chaku, bhangra pao mitra, hun nachan munde da bapu :rotfl:

Wesey Are there two types of siraiki languages? Like Sindhi siraiki and punjabi siraiki?

Yes, that's what I was thinking that there is Sindhi siraiki and punjbi siraiki.

re: Saraiki Words

Its different dailects. Even Sindhi as we speak is different from Sindhi spoken in Thar, which got many words from Rajisthani

re: Saraiki Words

How do you say it in Sindhi Ja rahay ho? Waynda pay?

re: Saraiki Words

re: Saraiki Words

Ahaan we call it Waynda pay or Waynda aay

re: Saraiki Words

re: Saraiki Words
