****LAHORE: **Former senator Muhammad Ali Durrani has warned the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) coalition government against moving the 21[SUP]st[/SUP] Amendment in Parliament exclusively for the creation of a Seraiki province. He has said that the people of Bahawalpur division will resist any action that would be carried out on the basis of hatred and ethnicity.

**Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club, Durrani said that President Asif Ali Zardari’s announcement regarding the establishment of a Seraiki province was an open violation of the constitution as the law did not empower him to announce or form a new province in the country.

Durrani, who is the torch bearer of the Bahawalpur division restoration movement, lashed out against Zardari in a calculated manner. Sources close to the former senator and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) said that the press conference was meant to counter Zardari’s announcement.
The president during his visit to Multan had announced that the PPP government will carve out a Seraiki province before the general elections.
**Durrani said that the president is a symbol of the federation and should not propagate ethnic and linguistic hatred, adding that Zardari’s refusal to announce the restoration of Bahawalpur province had disheartened the people.

**The former senator said that it was regrettable that the president was accompanied by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani in his “voyage of hatred on linguistic basis”.

**He said that Gilani was trying to create “Karachi-like circumstances in the peaceful region” through his statements.

**“Zardari and Gilani both are hatching conspiracies against south Punjab as they have failed to control the law and order situation in Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and in northern areas.”

**Durrani said that Gilani should refrain from “cultivating the seeds of hatred” in south Punjab if all parties like PML-N and the JUI-F had agreed to the restoration of the Bahawalpur province.

Durrani alleged that Gilani had used Rs120 billion on roads leading to his residences, adding that the money had been allocated for the development funds of south Punjab.
He demanded that a referendum be held in Bahawalpur to ask if they wanted their own province or not, adding that he had submitted a resolution for referendum when he was a senator but it had not been entertained.
Durrani thanked Nawaz Sharif for his promise to restore the status of Bahawalpur.
Responding to a question on the creation of a Seraiki province, Durrani said, “if PPP commits such a blunder then it would be its last error.”

Brother, zameen Kay Haqaiq kuch aur hain or aap ki intellectual debate kuch aur. And why so biased towards Saraiki peers/ gaddi nasheens? Kay Saray problems inko picture say eliminate Karnay say solve ho jaain gay?

Its your fault Only Zardari & Gailani wants their benefits. They are not looking towards the so called efforts. My best wishes are with my area people but I'm afraid that the dream which common person is looking ll never gets its result.

No I never do intellectual talk aur main zameeni haqaiq par he baat kar raha hoon keonakh being a Saraiki jitni mairi mudh bhair inn Jageer daroon say ho chuki hay kissi aur key naheen ho sakti. Most of the members of my family are feudal and i don't say every one is a cruel person but its a bitter fact that majority is cruel and they have to be.
Main nay kabhi apni zameenoon par ja kar daikhanay key zahmat naheen key hay leekan mujhay yaqeen hay kah agar apnay baqi cousins key tarah main bhi zameenoon par ja kar rahoon ga to apnay mazaroon ko abuse karoon ga aur unn ko haqarat key nigah say daikhoon ga.
I'm not biased but telling you the bitter facts aur kabhi aap ko ittefaq ho to aap undronni illaqoon main ja kar jaiza laain kah loog kis tarah jageedaro aur wadairoon key ghulam hain .......

That is right, the moment Seraiki province is created all corruption will come to an end, there will be no load-shedding, all government employees will actually start working without demanding extra money for their real responsibility, people will start paying taxes, corrupt politicians will move their money from abroad back to Pakistan, army will stop abducting civilians, both govt and army will follow constitution line-by-line, Baluchistan will be a happy camper, more gas reserves will be discovered, existing gas reserves will triple their output. Thank you Zardari for showing us the light.

Personally, I agree with Muhammad Ali Durrani that this is purely a racist move by zardari to sow more seeds of hatred between ethnicities. I think by the time Zardari finishes, Pakistan will be divided into a dozen provinces and regions, all built on racism and ethnicity with hatred in the hearts of people for each other. Allah is azab se hum sab ko bachae.

This is the political map of Pakistan, the whole story is of 4 divisions Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Sargodha. As far as I have understood peoples party wants to group all of them in the form of one province where as PMLN wants to carve out a separate Bahawalpur Province and a Seraiki province composed of Multan and DG Khan.

Bahawalpur is a Saraiki speaking area but they are committed to restoration of Bahawalpur province .
Bahawalpur’s issue is not making a province but restoration of a province .

Lets accept the ugly truth , ..and Now I am beginning to think perhaps Mumtaz Bhutto's formula of a confederation rather than federation is the solution ., this he proposed way back in the late 70's , as deliberate ethnic divisions will spin out of control any time soon.

These are the actual cities in Saraiki region.They better give a name Saraiskistan to Saraiki province including all cities rather making Multan and Bhawalpur differnet provinces.If they make Bhawalpur and Multan different provinces, it would be a big loss and it 'll bring hatred among Saraikis.

I am sorry I do not agree with this map .... it does not contains..
Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Sobho Khan Mastoi, Kamal Khan Mastoi, Thatta, Sujawal, Dadu and Ghotki.
Initerier sindh 40% of papulation speak sindhi Saraik
but that is perhaps , these areas are in Sindh not Punjab.

The language spoken in DI Khan/Tank (KP) and Naseerabad (Balochistan) is also Seraiki.

Dadu, Thatta, Shikarpoor have no majority of Saraiki speaking people. Jackobabad / Shikarpur has majority of Sindhi speaking and Bharochiki (a dialect of Balochi) speaking population. In short, in Sindh you can’t point out a city, which you can call Saraiki city as LiPpY pointed in the Punjab’s map.
