People blame PPP was responsible of Saqoot E Dhaka… I believe… Pakistan Army was number 1 responsible entity of division…

Iskandar Mirza opened the door for Army in civil government… Ayub Khan flourish the rule of martial law… and Yahya used force to crush the democratic right of the people of former East Pakistan.

I am still who heard the speech of the traitor Yahya Khan on 16th December 1971
And soon after that
in fifteen minutes of news bulletin , in the middle , Radio Pakistan spent 15 seconds on saying
“Aaj aik muhahiday kay bad Bharti faujain Dhaka main dakhal ho gain”

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

A note of apology to the people of Bangladesh:
We, the people of West Pakistan, held back on giving your due rights to you from day one after the partition (15th August 1947) although the Bengali frontline played a leading part in the creation of Pakistan. Muslim League also held its first meeting in Dhaka. Soon after the creation of Pakistan, the father of the nation as well as Liaqaut Ali Khan labelled Bengali as a ‘local’ and ‘crass’ language. They did so even though they knew that you constituted a larger part of Pakistan s population, and while it was common knowledge that Bengali was considered the richest and most cultivated language of the sub continent. Among the numerous language which were spoken in Hindustan, only a Bengali literary genius was awarded the Nobel Prize. In order to diminish your majority among the population database, we invented the ‘Parity’ and ‘One Unit’ formula, so that neither could you come in power nor could you receive a share in it. In this country, it was not the citizens who were deemed an important element for achieving unity and progress. Instead, Islam, Urdu and the agenda for hatred towards India were considered the main pillars of the nation. We always considered you as a group belonging to the lower caste, people who were dark skinned, short and generally inferior human beings. We always questioned your patriotism because the way we had treated the Hindus and Sikhs in Punjab and Sindh, who we either killed or forced to go back to India, perhaps you did not treat the Hindu Bengalis in the same barbaric manner. As a result, your declaration of love for your own country was always looked at with skepticism by us. A continuous propaganda was carried out by us in the ‘Real’ Pakistan, that your part of the country is merely a financial liability on the rest. That you are no more that a nation riddled with floods. That you produce nothing other than jute and how valuable can that be, after all we only used it to make gunny bags, which was all the mental capacity we had!
As a result of your long and challenging struggle for political rights, free and fair general elections were held on basis of one-man-one-vote, in the year 1971. But the ‘Real’ Pakistan’s Army and political leadership refused to accept the results of these elections, which depicted a majority win by you. Then the ‘Real’ Pakistan tried to fix you through bullet diplomacy. Our Generals said we dont want Bengalis, we only want Bengal. Kill the pigs.murder the *******s. And make sure that you kill their women after ‘sampling’ them first. The Biharis and Jamat e Islami of your land turned out to be traitors for your nation and became pimps for our establishment. They helped our Army in carrying out mass murder of your people.
After achieving independence, you spent the early years undergoing some hardships. But amazingly, you were able to progress much more as compared to Pakistan over the next many years. You did not have any cotton, yet today all major clothing store chains carry garments made by you. We on the other hand had vast amounts of cotton, but clothes carrying our labels cannot be found in many stores. We make the clothes and wear them ourselves.
After parting ways with you, we became the pimps of USA and in return we received millions of dollars. We succeeded in making our own country as well the whole of South Asia into a hub of terrorism for the world. And now China has managed to make us into effective toll collectors. Hopefully we will continue to receive many more millions of dollars over the next few years through this arrangement. Our military establishment still manages to stand tall with their heads held high and their shoulders squared. They carry even more glittering medals on their chests today. While you are in the process of hanging traitors of your land, we are unable to forget the sacrifices offered by our pimps. It was our great desire to murder all the Bengali intellectuals, poets, writers and teachers, on the night we surrendered, so that there remain no thinkers and achievers amongst you for generations to come. Little did we know, those who dig a hole for others have a penchant to fall in that same hole.
Today, wisdom is dead in our nation. All we have left is a large crowd of the beards, who are our declared intellectual leaders.

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

Yahya Khan and Bhutto were a team. They need to share the responsibility equally.

…In the 1970 elections, Bhutto’s PPP scored big win in West Pakistan defeating several stalwarts in Punjab and Sindh while Sheikh Mujib’s Awami League won almost all the seats in East Pakistan. After the elections, behind the scene, political game started. General Yahya Khan had earlier spoken to Bhutto and gave him false promise that he will be given power after the elections. The famous talks were held on the lawns of Bhutto’s residence in his hometown, Larkana. In return, Bhutto promised to oppose Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as it was also in Bhutto’s interest. Sheikh Mujib’s Awami League had secured majority in Pakistan and was in a position to form a government on its own. Sheikh Mujib was in a certain position to be next Prime Minister of whole Pakistan.

Bhutto opposed the newly elected Assembly’s first session announced to be held in Dhaka and warned his party members that “I will break the legs of those MNAs who will go to Dhaka”. Again pre-planned game started by military junta. Yahya Khan went to Dhaka. Bhutto and NAP chief Wali Khan were also invited there for talks. The talks ‘failed’ as they were supposed to. After the failure of the talks the ruthless military oppression began in East Pakistan. Wali Khan said about the talks on his return at the airport that it was a drop scene of ‘the drama’ while Bhutto said that ‘thank God, Pakistan is saved’. The tanks rolled in the beautiful city of Dhaka. The military took over the Dhaka University and started killing unarmed people to crush their rebellious spirit. In Sindh, the Party (Communist Party), some writers and some G. M. Syed workers opposed the military oppression in East Pakistan…

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

Bhutto grew up in the lap of Ayub.

He was a trusted team member of Yahya. Military establishment helped PPP win 1970 elections.

How can people deny such obvious facts is beyond me. One has to be either illiterate or blind to be not able see what happened.

…Ayub Khan’s era observed the existence of Inner Cabinet in early years which later on was transformed into the Kitchen Cabinet. At times Ayub used to have prior discussion with his close associates in the Cabinet and the Cabinet would take decisions accordingly. In some cases only West Pakistani Ministers were called in special meetings of the Cabinet to discuss some specific issues. The most influential Cabinet Ministers during Martial Law period (1958-1962) were Z. A. Bhutto, landlord, Manzur Qadir, lawyer and Muhammad Shoaib, civil bureaucrat. (Roedad Khan, 2002: 115) Shoaib had great personal influence on Ayub Khan and played an effective role in deciding economic issues. Except Bhutto the other two were non-political figures. The members of Cabinet from East Pakistan were the main sufferers in this regard. Their opinions were not given considerable importance while approving and formulating various policies by Ayub Khan, though he worked as a team in day-today matters (RBHC, 1960). Constitution Commission had prepared an agreed report, which was totally changed by Ayub Khan with the consultation of Manzur Qadir. Consent of Z.A.Bhutto was also taken who agreed with the President. Ayub had three military Generals in his Cabinets during this period but they were less influential than the above mentioned three Ministers and more influential than East Pakistani Ministers at the same time, though General Azam Khan was comparatively stronger than other Military colleagues of the Cabinet. After introduction of 1962 Constitution, Z.A. Bhutto and Muhammad Shoaib again continued as the most influential Ministers.

Both of them left Ayub Khan’s Cabinet in 1966, after which the place of influential Ministers was taken over by Ghulam Farooq, Commerce Minister, A. K. Sabur, Minister of Communications and Khawaja Shahabuddin, Information Minister. They were technocrats, not politicians with little apparent political future. At the same time no one had power like Bhutto and Shoaib to influence Ayub…

The influential Ministers of Ayub Khan in both the regimes were non-political figures except Bhutto. East Pakistanis were the main sufferers in this whole scenario as they had felt to be ignored…

…He returned on December 20, 1971 and met Gul Hasan, Rahim Khan and then Yahya Khan. They handed over power to Bhutto, whose Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had won majority of the West Pakistan’s seats in the 1970 elections. He took oath as President and Civilian Chief Martial Law Administrator because Pakistan was being run without any Constitution…

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

The honorable poster forgets all in rivality of elected democratic leader Shaheed Zulfqar Ali Bhutto .
It is not good to challenge their Boot polish mentality .
It is not their fault .
We can understand it with the 1000 year history of the area

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

Wasnt Mujeeb ur Rehman the democratically elected leader? Why didnt ZAB accept them and allow awami league to form a govt? If he had, Yahya would not have been able to do anything.

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

Election was held under a legal work frame order and Mujeeb was insisting on his six points , that could make five or six Pakistan in one day
Bhutto was not in power
A traitor military dictator was ruling , better ask your beloved army that what they did .

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

Even talks failed, it was duty of Yahyah Khan to ask Shaikh Mujib to form the government instead of starting genocide of Bangali by Punjabi army. ZAB was not in power then he could do dick on the decision of Marshal Law Administrator. Yahya Khan did not do this because he thought Bengali are ‘bhanghi’ how the hell bhanghi would rule the West Pakistan dominated by superior Punjabis. Don’t add mirch masala to your red lines which was brain child of Jamat Ha..mi who was expert in lying the history of Muslims. They were themselves were involved genocide of Bengali intellectuals represented by Al Shams and Al Badar.

I have posted this video many times to shame people who always lied the breakup of Pakistan. This drunkard army ruler of Pakistan was arrogantly said that "I know Bengali more than Bengali know themselves’.

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

Partly disagree. ZAB not in power then working on the wishes of drunkard general. Even ZAB was against could do nothing if Yahya Khan decided to ask Shaik Mujib to form the government. Shaikh Mujib’s six points would have been proved blessings for united Pakistan.

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

Mujeeb insisted on his six that could divide Pakistan into six states. What was the solution then?

Re: Saqoot e Dhaka - Pakistan Army

WTF is the point of this thread now, in 2016. Past is past. Forget it and move on.

Any idiot can see that when you have an ememy like india BETWEEN your 2 territories, it will automatically create problem/rift and try to separate it.
It’s very easy when the 2 territories are not connected to each other.

I bet it’s not possible to further separate Pakistan now. indian dreams are now finished/quashed.
Pakistani military and people will ensure it will not happen. inshAllah
