The banarsi sarees my grandmother got in her jahez 60+ years ago still look amazing. That's just a tacky saree (I suspect they may not have been able to afford better back then) - even if it is an heirloom, I would have worn something else.

I think Pakistani wedding bridals are much more elegant than the Indian ones...at least the Hyderabadi styles.

yeah shoaib should not have worn a topi but something more Pakistani.

Since when did kashmiri women start wearing saris, that too 60 plus years ago? Dowri is not called "jahez" neither in Srinagar nor in SFO.

SO they wanted a different kind of wedding, vaat is the praablem? Maybe they want to donate all the money they would have spent on designer clothing for just a couple of hours to the orphanage. Who knows.
