i ordered my wedding outfit from bunto its it is veryyy pricey but her work is to last a lifetime. she takes lots of pride in her work and assures u everyday that its going to be beautiful...mind u i have nooo idea how my outfit will look and buntos the type of person who doesnt like u giving her instructions it kinda i guess insaults her but im not worried im sure its going to be amazing !
^one thing i really hate is when people start talking about donations and helping the poor and needy when others are talking about having a grand and beautiful wedding. its wrong to assume that people that have a lavish affair dont give money to the poor. in my humble opinion, if people are making the money, they are usually working hard for it and it is really up to them on how they want to spend it. i agree that people should help the poor but that doesnt mean a person should that makes say $2 million/ yr first sees their money in the US go to taxes which in that case be 40% so ur left with 1.6 mil and then if u wanna spend $100k on a wedding, u should give $50k to the poor. everything should be done reasonably. some people would definitely give half their paycheck or more to charities and some would choose to give the minimal amount as prescribed in islam. some people like having a grand wedding with their hard earned money and its no ones business telling them how to spend their money.
completely agree! its your wedding and your money and you'll be answerable to God for it. i really don't like being dictated to or told what i should/shouldn't be doing by other people. i hope you had a wedding like you've outlined, mubeen, but i really think its no one's business how anyone else has theirs.
.. yup ive been told kehkeshan is like the copy wala site in khi... like liberty in lahore.
would love to see the copy.. but then again this design is not hard.
The whole thing is super clear in Libas... thats where the shoot was published.. and the work is all machine embroidery.
twinkle, i think when you got to bunto for a dress and she says swarovski kaam, she means swarovski kaam. its her integrity as a designer, outside of her apparent skill and taste, that you trust and pay for, you know?
although i make jewellery for fun, and i know swarovski's are not that pricey when you buy them wholesale, but perhaps its tough to acquire them in pakistan and thats why its so expensive.
here, its $90 for about 500 crystals, if i remember correctly. if you trust your designer, you might as well buy them from here and then have the kaam wala's embellish your dress with them. swarovski sparkle is very unique from other crystals- it'd be easy to spot fakes.
i'm sure french net and chiffon cost an arm and a leg on their own, and then you top that with intricate kaam and there you go, 8 lakhs before you know it.
as an aside, has anyone seen french Alencon lace used in a paki wedding dress before? i've always wanted a lace gharara or lehenga, or even just a dupatta in lace - i think it would be gorgeous with tone on tone kaam with pearls and crystals drool
alencon lace is handmade in france so its really, really expensive... zigs, did you see anything similar, by any chance, while you were researching in pakistan?
I love alencon lace !!!!
My walima outfit has some alencon lace on it. I actually wanted the entire thing to be on that lace but it became to costly. My Dupatta has an border of alencon lace with a few scattered swarovski crystals
