He is likely to play the 4 day match against Northamptonshire before the 2nd test and it is possible that he will be making his test debut at Old Trafford.
Anyway most of us saw him during the International Twenty 20 last year in England and then this year in domestic Twenty 20 in Pakistan. I was looking for a match featuring him and found this one. If anyone has some other video please post.
Lets all pray he puts in a decent performance so maybe we won't have to see the likes of Sami again in this series. Heck if he does well, we might not see Rao either :D.
This video shows some good batting by Rafatullah Muhamand. He should be introduced in the next series since we've been hearing about him for months now!
From what I saw of Niazi last year - he didn't seem anything special to me and don't think he will cause too many problems for the English batsmen. In fact playing Shahid Nazir would be a better option then Niazi.
^ I second that. Nazir should replace Sami, not Niazi. Nazir is a good line and length bowler who swings the ball quiet a bit. Most definetly a better option than Sami.
after watching the video, well all i can say is that he is more like Ian Bradshaw style bowler, well what ever the variety...etc PCB is looking I hope he can provide coz Old trafford wicket is a bit paced than the paradise of Lord's. more hard work for the batsmen.
I was wondering where on earth has Shahid Nazir disappeared to. Pre-series, all were hyped with his inclusion in the side, including me, and understandably so, since he brings alot more variety in the side than the likes of that trashbag Sami and equally on the same scale, but worse, Rao Iftikhar, combined. If there is an option of whom to include between Nazir and Niazi, the former, most definitely. However, even if Niazi is selected, it would at least be a halfway better than picking that street garbage Sami once again just because of his birth certificate which shows a stamp and a seal of approval already signed by the lord Bari himself for automatic selection in the team for years to come.
Whenever there is a need to include a variety (or pace) bowler in the side, we should always remember the following mathematical equation:
ABS = Anyone But Sami!
(Coming soon to a bumper sticker near you = ABR (Anyone But Rao))
The only reason I can think why PCB will include Samiullah and not Shahid Nazir is that Samiullah is left handed. Remember when Pakistan team went to Australia they took Khalil along them cuz he was left handed, then after mediocre performance they took him to India too so our bowling will have "variety" but he proved to be a useless variety.
Now perhaps our PCB thinktank is thinking along these lines:
"Imagine the pace of right handed Sami from one side, then variety of left-handed Sami from the other side, English batsmen will have no choice but to give away their wickets".
Oh no, not him. I was talking about a condition where a person become *Saminized. *After making Dhobi Bhai *Saminized, *Wasim Bari is now looking to Saminize English team
