Every time I watch this lad I feel he has got something special. great action, speed without any real effort and can move the ball both ways. I think that even when Wasim and Waqar retire, if Shoaib can get his head in order we are going to have a decent opening bowling attack. One that will pi** on the Indian one for sure ![]()
An uprising talent, indeed.
Sami needs to focus on line and length.
It was heart breaking to see four on a No Ball. not once but twice.
Re: Sami: the next Pak bowling sensation?

yeah after these two greast retire!
Shoaib, Sami and Zahid will make a more then dangerous bowling attack!
Yeah but he took 3 wickets and he's already joined the 1-day hatrick club. this lad has some talent take my word for it (i'm not normally wrong, check previous threads if in any doubt).

What is an "uprising" talent...? I guess a talent that will cause some sort of an uprising in Pakistan... :)

Xtreme, I'd prefer Sami's Credibility over yours :p
I agree he took 3 wickets and in the early's of his career, have already joined Hat-rick club, good job, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have to learn.
He needs concentration.

yeah but he's young so of course he has to learn. he's doing a damn good job even without learning so give the guy some credit.
Doing a good job without learning ![]()
Just look at his figure of the 1st ODI
6 No balls.
Xtreme, he needs your ![]()

well he truly is a talent,
he doenst only need to learn, he also needs to be taught and guided properly, and Waqar Wasim and other greats should be doing this job.
I know one thing for sure, if you have pace then there is no need of blowing short stuff, only dead straight deliveries can do the trick, like did waqar, he have 65% of his wickets either bowled or Lbw'd.
so when Sami is straight and on correct line, then he is deadly, but when he is wide or short, then he is ordinary,
and that knowledge will come only with guidance and consistant match experience
The Game Responds:
*The guy has potential; there is no doubt about that. The main thing is; he should start performing to his potential more consistently, and only then can he carry the burden of leading the Pakistan bowling attack. Replacing Wasim Akram (and Waqar Younis, to an extent) is no small task, I tell you. People, That Is All.*

I agree with The Game. The guy is talented, there is no doubt about that but he has got to perform more consistenly. Mohammad Sami still has a long way to go in Internation Cricket
Agreed!
Muhammed Sami is a very talented cricketer... and he's a real pace bowler..
he can bowl till 146....and may b he can bowl more then that...
he's taking wickets....
got 3/27 in the 2nd ODI...
I think it will take some time for him to replace for wasim/waqar....
but still he's a very good pace bowler...
sometimes he's xpensive or give extras... but i hope that he will control it soon.

The boy has pace....a run up, not very neat to look at, but nevertheless does the job.
I say he has great potential, needs some coaching. With Wasim and Waqar there to help him....he should be a great opening strike baller for Pakistan..
Agree with Xtreme, the lad has a great potential and with a little more coaching from the two W's he will in time become a very good find for Pakistan. If only Shoaib can go through a tournament without breaking down then they can form quite a fearsome opening partnership.

The whole point if he could get some coaching from the 2 W's I doubt that will happen. He has good pace but he need some varieties to trap the batsman like Waseem, Waqar and Shoaib does.
The first time I saw him was on Pakistan's tour of Newzeland in 2001, where terrorized the kiwi batsman, he is ordinary on subcontinent pitches unlike the other 3 fast bowlers but when it comes to playing on bouncy pitches he is equally dangerous as the other 3.
Yes he has alot of problems with extras just like Wasim had in his early years, and he still does.
The problem is that PCB needs to play him constantly, so far they play him 3 games, and gets dropped to make way for some other high profile bowler, but when they get injured he is called back again.
He needs to be played for his abilities not someone else's.
I think he will be a great replacement for Wasim in the upcoming test series.
Okay guys stop!
I don't think Mohd Sami is such a hot shot -- so called next sensation....he is a medium pace bowler...more like Aqib Javed..nothing special!
he is not like mighty Shoaib Akhter or Mohd Zahid
right now Shaoib Akhter is undisputed King of fast bowling...
the only potential match to this king is Mohd Zahid...i pray Zahid get back to his old pace...
