The way I look at it, its not a matter of how much runs he scores or how many 50+ opening partnerships he shares in... its the way he gets those runs... totally dardnaak. I am sure he will cause a few heart-attacks amongst Pak fans if he sticks around just like this.

Oh yeah, u mean the ones which are shielded on both sides by dropped catch in the slips and comprehensively beaten all ends up. The dude should play Russian roulette.. his hit-or-miss percentage will work nicely there.

tht's my point...the misses are bc of being out of form. he has what's needed in an opening batsman. I would not even think of dropping him.
One thing that does concern me is that he should have regained form on these graveyard pitches for bowlers.

He said in an interview he recites kalama as it helps him concentrate. Faisal, may be you should do the same while watching him on TV. It might calm your nerves down a bit.

I think this guy is good. Just going through bad phase. He seems like a long time prospect for Pakistan. He will do ok.

The way he plays and flashes outside the off stump, he will get into big toruble on seaming English wickets later on this year. I will consider him a permanent opener for us if he surivives the tour of England.

I think he's better equipped than most other Pakistani batsmen to handle seaming conditions. He's naturally aggressive and likes to play his shots. He did adjust quite nicely to bouncy wickets in Australia, so I guess he'll be okay in England also. It's Malik & Co. I am worried about.

I said it before, and I'll say it again... its not how many runs he scores (or doesn't score). Its how he gets those runs. More importantly how he plays and misses. Total tension package hai ye banda.
