How many of you are the "salan wali aunties"? You know the ones that pass by you and have that really hardcore salan smell. Not that it's bad or anything but it def. is something that catches my attention because the smell is just too strong.

Desi cuisine uses onion, garlic, and spices. These ingredients are known to give off a pungent odor. The mouthwash with our spices is like a chain reaction of acids coming together. It actually burns the mouth :(

Really didnt get the sense of this thread. We are all desi and we all smell like curry, even if we dont, we're told that we do :D so sit back, relax, and enjoy the curry - and while you are at it, be a proud desi.

I used to work with this guy , His wife was back home , every morning he would come he would be smelling like salan. I was team lead so I was told by people to ask him to use some cologne before coming to work.
I knew what was the problem. Every morning he would cook food for lunch before coming to work and that too when he was all ready for work. So I asked him to cook food first. Take a Shower , change and put some deodorant and cologne and then come to work. He was a smart chap but being from a pind he did not know better, so he followed my advice and from next day on the complaining stopped.
