Sajda.....

Re: Sajda.....

i wouldn't judge them so quickly. think about the environment they are operating in. even if it just for show, it makes sense...it is a huge liability to look like they aren't religious in today's pakistan. they are just moving in the same direction as their society/fan base.

Re: Sajda.....

I wouldn't say not appearing religious would be a liability.

Not all players appear religious.

Sure it will gain some browny points.

And they are not necessarily making sajda to show off religosity.

Maybe it means something to them personally and it is somewhat of a tradition.

I think you are reading too much into it.

Re: Sajda.....

thanks for not reading the thread and for posting a meaningless post which has nothing to do with the core topic under discussion! and no need for me to respond as i already did respond to these "isolated" statistics multiple times above... only if you had taken time to read some of those posts...but hey thx anyway!!!

Re: Sajda.....

^ In your first post you wrote:

as far as I remember, I have never seen players from any other Muslim country following this ritual in any other sports..i have not seen saudi or middle eastern soccer players doing this even in tense matches upon winning or scoring a goal ... no one did that in Olympics either...

So I was just giving you some examples of where they have. No need to thank me. :)

Re: Sajda.....

Maybe it is just me. But your charge of my rants and lectures in every other thread coming 30 min after Huma's post is indicative of a moderator backing up the director. Chalk this up to difference of opinion.

You ridiculed me ( in another thread). for defending myself from your unnecessary charge. Maybe it is just me - but I think if you criticize another persons conduct, you should be prepared to see the other person defend themselves. Chalk this up to difference of opinion.

You indicated this is just internet - and so no need to get into argumenrlts. Maybe it is me - but this forum is more than that to me. I have regard and affection for several here. They are real people to me - even if I haven't seen them. Chalk this up to difference of opinion.

For some reason you seem to keep track of my lectures and rants while oblivious of Januja and Aceones history. Both of whom you appear to side with. So let me bring you up to speed

Januja said shame on you to a progressive Muslim who staterd he would allow Sikhs to worship in a mosque if they had no place to worship. ( context - Sikhs had done same for Muslims).

Januja went on to say if Sikh or Hindus are allowed to worship in mosque he would be happy to kick them in the rear and help them out. This was approx Aug 25.

In a thread on Taliban beheading someone playing music he was an apologist for the Taliban. Approx 3 weeks ago.

And Aceones - in same thread he has been making similar excuses - last ones bring today.

And in last week he has quoted following from the Holy Book in All Views ( maybe it is just me - but he seems to bring up divisive quotes and hides behind this is not for non Muslims.

Only Muslims can go to heaven.

Muslims will never be accepteed by Christians and Jews.

Maybe it is just me - your backing up both of them, not able ( or unwilling) to connect the dots while criticizing my conduct just makes me go wow. Chalk this one also to difference of opinion. ( see how this maybe it is just me works both ways!)

I am now done. If you criticize someone don't express surprise/disdain if they defend themselves. I have zero interest in engaging you and plan to stay out of your way. I hope you will return the favor.

Respectfully.

Re: Sajda.....

Also addressed some points from your really long rant :) - had to move it from other thread.

Maybe it is just me. You do protest too much

Re: Sajda.....

so guys whats problem if someone is thanking ALLAH for some thing he was unsure of it and beleived that witout help of ALLAH he was not able to do that.
As for as asif, aamir and suleman are concerned so why should they dont have performed sajda. here are thousands of people who tell lie, evade tax, etc so should they stop having sajda to ALLAH.

Re: Sajda.....

Not all of us have the time go through the whole mumbo jumbo and then respond.

But then why are you itimidated by sajda? Its just something personal for a player. It snot like he is stopping half way his delivery and doing a sajda. People celebrate in different ways, afridi with his X style, Gayle with dance, some by making a cross, all is accepted as part of the game.

Who are you to tell them how they should celebrate.
