I think that the programme was quite badly filmed and seems VERY low budget.
I would have thought that the aim (especially in todays climate!) would be to "sell" Pakistan to people rather than to portray it as it was. I mean what's with all the portrayal of the women's refuge, made it seem like it was widespread as opposed to the exception!
The only good thing was the Edhi foundation thing...but even then, I think there was a portrayal that female babies were abandoned!

I wish they'd stop referring to Pakistan as an "opressive and conservartive" society, yeah Pakis take morals/values seriously but there's a lot more acceptance/tolerance in Pak for a lot of things if they're not shoved in other ppl's faces than there is in the West (a lot of things are legal in the west yet unacceptable). Why does the West like to condemn other societies as opressors? And why do certain confused Pakis support what they say just to be drama queens? I guess putting other socities down makes the West feel better about themselves, ego boost or something, they need to convince themselves that they're the best.
It seems like the program was focusing on overmagnifying the problems in our society, sure those things exist but not to as large an extent as she was making out.
It was horrendous, embarassing... Seems like she purposely chose the ugliest and dirtiest places in Pak, I wish she'd spent a little less time the shanty towns of Karachi and shown more of our culture and scenic beauty.
In the urban areas she should have concentrated on celebs in areas like Clifton etc. but omit the shanty towns or briefly scan them, our rural areas are naturally beautiful she should have shown them more... She focused on the negative aspects of Pakistan instead of the positive.
Her Urdu was horrible, anyone see where she says to that Hijra "aap larrka jammin theen?" Mirpuri alert! Mirpuri alert!
Being born in Bham doesn't make you a Whitey love, not with that pinokio nose anyhow, you're a Paki, it's your country no matter how much you claim to be "born n bred Brit" so at least have the deceny to present it positively coz it represents you.

well her ancestral home is in kashmir and thats where shes heading!!!she is prob mirpuri.....

Other societies have to align with their line of thought, if not then they shall be condemned, just like we "Muslims" do too, right?

anyone see the kushti player holding her hands???? seemed dodgy to me how he just held on for ages!!!

It was pretty crap. Compared to the India one with Sanjeev Bakshar or whatever. She just showed the poor side of Karachi and a few women's refuges. Someone should make "The Other Pakistan" video, going thru the affluent areas, talking to a host of "it girls"-and show the face of moderate and prosperous Pakistan.
Pakistan has the worst PR in the world. India pretty much the best.

pakistan could have done with some good publicity, but no she focused on all the negatives, where were all the beautiful places in karachi and lahore? i was disgusted by this programme, it was so one sided.

Ditto! she did it for the BBC, it seems that Westerners and their media want to see Muslims/Muslim-countries (especially Pakistan lately) in a negative light.
It made Pak look like such a morbid and depressing place, when in actual fact it’s the bestest place on earth, yeah we’re a third world country but we’re content and happy, we make do and are more satisfied and joyful with our lives than any Westerner. The program seem to purposely down-play the postives and display them in a less flattering way.
At least the Pashtuns in next weeks preview look quite shag-worthy but she’s going to portray them as backward, uncivilised, uneducated, barbaric etc. because they have a different culture than hers. Yeah we need a Mirpuri to show us the light!!
It was shameful and depressing, burn in Hell Saira Khan.

As soon as I heard who was presenting it..i thought this is gonna be awful so i didn't watch it. What does she know about Pakistan? Her only claim to fame is the apprentice and she milked the asian angle despite the fact she has nothing to do with the Asian community.
