Sadka Jariah

I often wonder what I as an individual can do to ensure I have continued Sadka Jaariah even after my death … There are the usual options like giving a certain amount towards the education of a child … give donation in the building of a mosque or school or hospital … plant trees …

I need to find out if there are any other options that you guys have seen friends and family do …

Re: Sadka Jariah

I also want to know.

Re: Sadka Jariah

My mother told me about this madrassa where kids come to hifz Quran and one can give the fee for a kid to cover all the tuition and/or also add boarding and food.
I also know of a family who dug a well and then put a faucet outside of their house for anyone to drink water. (This is in Pakistan)

And then there is naik aulaad. I hope and pray that Allah helps me in brining up my kids to be naik.

Re: Sadka Jariah

in quran printing & distribution...in quran hifz...etc

Re: Sadka Jariah

Hmm ... If anyone has any knowledge of specific Islamic books being translated and printed ... I mean sometimes people need funds .. let us know .. I know a few people who might be able to help ... Thanks for this idea LP

Re: Sadka Jariah

This is a very beautifull thread

Re: Sadka Jariah

Like you said, donating to the construction of a masjid or Islamic School.

Providing books and Quran's to these places.

My mother had some bought some Qur'ans in Mecca and placed them in the Haram.

Being a Qur'an/Islamic Teacher.

Even something simple as a smile. . That always brightens someone's day, who in turn might pass their own smile to someone else, and it keeps going.

Building a home for Orphans

Re: Sadka Jariah

Buying some Quran copies and placing them in the haram , i think thats a beautiful idea .. perhaps we can do it in local mosques as well .. thanks for mentioning that afshi ..

Re: Sadka Jariah

Most of the things have already been mentioned :) ....... what else....

Teach some kid how to say prayer & recite Quran pak .
Give tasbeehs as gifts to everyone you know.

Re: Sadka Jariah

i think any act that you do intentionally that has long ranging impact is sadqa e jariah. it does not just have to do with quran or duaas.
even something like providing a water fountain from which ppl can drink water is considered that. or making a road or a bridge for people's easy passage.

Re: Sadka Jariah

^ good points.

A lot of people donate those huge water containers to the masjid for the students to drink from.

Re: Sadka Jariah

just to add though
you can donate them to a gym or a bus station as well.
its about making a positive impact on humanity and a gift that keeps giving.
thats why we talked about education as one,

Now as far as god being rehman and raheem..my understanding is that your account of bad deeds closes once u die, but of good deeds continues on in form of sadqa e jariya.

of course when my grandfather explained that to me, I came up with the statement that then someone who had a high balance of bad vs good deeds at death, can have the very opposite by the time he is judged...and if so, time plays a role and its unfair to people who were born later and thus needs to have lower weighting as time passes.

I did not get a satisfactory answer though :(

Re: Sadka Jariah

Anything which eases the lives of others is a Sadiqa-e-Jariya ...

Re: Sadka Jariah

You can even set up trust funds or something similar so that some money gets donated to charity even after your death

Re: Sadka Jariah

anything which can provide relief/help to people over long period of time....

so you should invest in non-current assets......

Re: Sadka Jariah

It is my understanding that when a person dies his/her bad and good both account keeps active. Like sadqah jariaha and gunah jariah.

Re: Sadka Jariah

i have not heard much of that at all, so some background would be appreciated.

Re: Sadka Jariah

Plant some trees in Masjid , most of the masjids can use some landscaping to make them more inviting.

A drinking water well in some remote village where dungers and humans drink from the same water pond.

Re: Sadka Jariah

I also have a question related to this... let's say you set up a trust fund and named it after a loved one who has passed away ... do they get the sawaab or do you or both? Imran Khan, for example, named his hospital after his mother. A lot of people do that in the hope that their loved one would receive the benefits of the sadqa jariah. I once heard a guy say that this doesn't do anything for the ones who are dead. They're not the ones who set up this sadqa jariah.

Re: Sadka Jariah

^there is difference among schools of thoughts....

one set of people say............ the 'good' deeds done by others in the name of deceased...'eesal-e-sawaab'.... the deceased will get the benefit of those....major example is quran khwaani and etc........

the other set say........... only the good deeds done by the person himself will be counted.... while he was alive or the continuing good deeds ,sadqa-e-jariya (i.e trust fund/hosipital set by the person himself before dying....or any good deeds of the naik-aulaad)...............and once he dies.......others can't earn sawaab and then donate/transfer sawaab to the deceased.......
