just to add though
you can donate them to a gym or a bus station as well.
its about making a positive impact on humanity and a gift that keeps giving.
thats why we talked about education as one,
*Now as far as god being rehman and raheem..my understanding is that your account of bad deeds closes once u die, but of good deeds continues on in form of sadqa e jariya.
*
of course when my grandfather explained that to me, I came up with the statement that then someone who had a high balance of bad vs good deeds at death, can have the very opposite by the time he is judged...and if so, time plays a role and its unfair to people who were born later and thus needs to have lower weighting as time passes.
I did not get a satisfactory answer though :(
No, i don't think so... I think both accounts remain active, good & bad, as STA said.
What if someone started pub or something. That will have negative impact on society & is a gunah jaria as long as it is there.
There is no doubt about this that ALLAH is rehman & raheem, ALLAH forgives anyone or everyone when HE wants, which is between the person & HIM ( haqooq ALLAH) but this (sadqa jaria & gunah jaria) is something related to haqooq alibad & it will affect the society. So if somene is doing bad or something which will have an negative impact on society is gunah jaria for that person ... that person will not only get gunah of starting something bad & becoming root cause for it but also get gunah of others too who are getting affected negatively by this.
My mother told me about this madrassa where kids come to hifz Quran and one can give the fee for a kid to cover all the tuition and/or also add boarding and food.
Before giving money to any madrassa we need to see what kind of teachings the madrassa is inculcating. Many a times madrassas are run by shady characters. I remember a madrassa in Karachi where children were found chained in basement.
I wonder why wealthy Muslims don't invest in education. Now that would be true sadqae jariya.
Remember Dayaram Jetham, a Hindu who built DJ College, and Nadirshaw Edulji Dinshaw, a Parsi who built NED University.
How many such institutes have wealthy Muslims built?
^ I so agee. Biggest investment for the well of being of the future generations is education. Building an institute of education is the biggest sadqa jariah in my eyes.

hamdard university, baqai university to name two just in Karachi.
We all agree on sadqa e jariah, thousands of articles on it. I have not seen anything significant on gunah e jariah, and would like to see it
Jo shakhs bura tareeq jari karey or loog us pr amal karien,to us pr us k jari karney ka bhee gunah hoga or un logon k amal ka bhee or amal karney walon k gunah main koi kami nahi hogi. (ibn-e-majh)
Build a water fountain or a well for clean water in places where they need it .... you can do this even for loved ones who have passed away and it would be considered sadqa-e-jariah.
Islamic Relief and a few other Muslim organizations specifically allow you the option to have a fountain/water pump built as sadqa-e-jariah.
Sure. There is some ray of hope left. But I think that there could have been a lot more institutes if education was priority for our wealthy people. Instead there money mostly goes to madrassas.
