Team news
South Africa’s pace cupboard has been stripped by injury, and there have been a couple of niggles in the batting camp too. Theunis de Bruyn has recovered from the back injury he picked up during the Mzansi Super League, but there are still lingering doubts around Temba Bavuma’s hamstring. If Bavuma isn’t passed fit to play, Zubayr Hamza will slot into the XI - becoming the 100th South African to play Test cricket since readmission.

South Africa (probable): 1 Aiden Markram, 2 Dean Elgar, 3 Theunis de Bruyn, 4 Hashim Amla, 5 Faf du Plessis (capt), 6 Temba Bavuma/Zubayr Hamza, 7 Quinton de Kock (wk), 8 Keshav Maharaj, 9 Dale Steyn, 10 Kagiso Rabada, 11 Duanne Olivier

Pakistan have announced that Shadab Khan and Mohammad Abbas are not fitfor the first Test. Fakhar Zaman is going to play, however, and will open the batting with Imam-ul-Haq.

Pakistan: 1 Imam-ul-Haq, 2 Fakhar Zaman, 3 Azhar Ali, 4 Haris Sohail, 5 Asad Shafiq, 6 Babar Azam, 7 Sarfraz Ahmed (capt & wk), 8 Mohammad Amir, 9 Yasir Shah, 10 Hasan Ali, 11 Shaheen Afridi

Well it’s being a tough a tour for the team of Pakistan they have already injury in their main players Muhammad Abbas and Shadab Khan…

Haris Sohail is injured too.

Shan Masood is in, after an year.

Already setbacks

While other asian teams ( India and SL ) doing relateively good in english conditions. PK is 64/4 already. Seems by 150 we will be done. Poor batting by the batters once again.

If team will be loosing because me, I will resign, says Sarfraz.
That means, as long long as my keeping is ok no one should talk about my captaincy. If I am not scoring, no problem, nobody else is scoring. If team perform bad, no problem, my wicket keeping is great hence I need to stay as captain. lol

Sarfraz = walking wicket, pathetic

The series started with the nephew’s duck. The openers are supposed to give the basic stand but with one constant failure its impossible.

Babar Azam again playing the anchor, Pak is heavily reliant on him.

The good news is, courtesy of Amir and Afridi Pak still has a chance to either take lead or make sure SA doesnt take a larger lead.

So then everything goes back to 2nd inning. Pakistan has to seek a strong opening foundation so that middle order can breath and bat without pressure.

as if sarfraz made a tripple ton

And I m loosing hope from asad shafiq now. Let’s hope he scores big in 2nd innings.

Some great shots by azhar n specially by babar

Shan masod n sarfraz a bit unlucky specially masod

Nioce work done by our Bowlers as usual. only 42 runs lead. Openers are trying to survive. At tleast the intent is there to survive. Lets see if we get a lead of 200.

Two innings 6 balls in total scored 0, this is what you call captain leading from the front. He should remain ODI and T/20 captain certainly not test material.

So chirra got pair of eggs. What a shame for a captain. But no worry keeping is great.

Sarfraz’s last seven test scores:

0
0
28
25
30*
3
2
Total 88
avg 14.67

What else can you expect from a captain, leading from the front in tests.

Is young Afridi still playing

If abbas shadab And Hari we?re not injured, we would have had a good chance.

Another pathetic batting display of Pakistani batsman…

Who will be the new captain for Tests and ODIs?

I know that a PSL league for tests won’t work but why not we have an ODI league?

I think that the rot in ODI started with the tuk tuk of Misbah tenure. We just don’t have aggressive batsmen who play sensibly anymore. I have no hopes for Pakistan in the next world cup.

Sri Lanka or zimbabwe sucking balls is one thing but Pakistan is one of the few powerhouses of cricket. I don’t think Imran as the PM has helped PCB since imran is not well adept to current cricket standards. I saw one of his interviews where he thought 250 in an ODI was a very good score.

Its a bad, bad Pakistani team. None of the batsmen is consistent to score in two innings back to back or even two matches. Result isnt surprising.

And Sarfraz is so fuked up lol. He just cant take the stress of three roles: Wicket keeper + Captain + Batsman. He has to give up captaincy to be back on track with other two.

Shan Masood scored and proved selectors wrong once again for keeping him out for an year. Glad the nephew scored as well.
