So it is ok to rely on their misinterpretation and start naming their extreme actions as Islamic or Hindu or Christian or Jewish terrorism?
If by extreme actions you refer to the violent methods, no it should not be so generalized, as long as such violence is not sanctioned or called for by the religion or its major proponents.
But I do think it would be a disservice not to deal with the current menace of jihadi suicide bombings. Granted no religion has been free of some outburst but the extent and frequency of such terror in recent times, since it is being done in the name of the Islamic religion, must be addressed by the Islamic leaders in their own and the interest of the rest of the world.
