Some renowned Mullahs are also often found in brothels.

lajjo bitya needs help. She seriously seriously does.

All the guys who r speaking against the ladies of heera mandi and saying they should reform themselves..how many of you would mary one of them if they sincerely wanted to leave that bazaar behind them and strive for a better more religious lifestyle?

They don't have much choice but to remain a part of what they were born in to. The honourable people of our society would never accept them even if they did revolt against the red light culture.

**Prostitution is generally looked down
upon in every civil society. What you fail to understand
Lawajab, and the likes of you is the way how some of
these women if not all end up in brothels to start with.
Apart from the ones who are born to women
previously there (I'm sure how the likes of even
those got started have their own stories of the journey
there), what about the ones who are
kidnapped and sold to these brothels. The ones
who fall victim to the common practice of family animosity
or other kinds of revenge carried out thru children?

At the end of the day these women are humans too.
Tell me Lawajab, the ones who want to leave that
lifestyle and live a clean life (spiritually as well as
hygienically), how many of you Mullah types would
be willing to bring them in and educate them about what
Islam is in reality. The religion of reason and human
nature. Not the extreme hate-filled, looked-down-
upon version practiced. How many of you would give
them the chance to start a new life, take them in and
give them protection? How many of you Mullah-likes
would be able to shield them and help them gain
a new identity which will keep them from the constant
battering of society? How many of you can give
the name and respect that would enable them to
overcome their previous life and start anew?

It's very easy to cry and whine
and scold prostitutes but it takes a bigger person to
educate them. While you're fighting for the rights
of hijab for women, I suggest you also fight to educate
brothers for it's not these prostitutes who make a brothel, but
the desire of brothers to want to go to one is what
creates them! **

Well said Aalhan and FF. :k: Even if the likes of Lajjo did eventually come to accept a reformed prostitute, it would be done so grudgingly and I’m sure their sins would be thrown in their faces time and time again. He needs to get rid of his superiority attitude first before he can genuinely make an effort to help others. Otherwise, there would be no point as he would be looking down on them the whole time.

I'm not speaking against the ladies but I'm saying we should stop this business rather than accept anything that will promote it. And I don't think any of people like Lajawab would marry them...For the exact same reason I think prostitution should be stopped. Ofcourse, we can't really help those women who are already in this market but we can sure help those who have not been sold in this market yet. Pakistan is such a poor place and there are men who will do anything to live. You don't want evil men of our society to take advantage of women in a place where they won't be accepted after entering this career, know what I mean? As a woman, I don't see how you guys want to let these things happen to women.

True and unfortunately we can't help them. Helping them will only increase corruption in the society.

For FF, and all those who want this prostitution business to continue

“Twenty years ago, I fell in love and got married, but three years later my husband brought me here and sold me for a lot of money,” she said. “Women in Pakistan are not allowed to marry with their heart, and after my marriage all doors were closed.” There are women too whose sad story is just beginning, like 18-year-old Shahzadi, whose parents accompanied her here five years ago from the small town of Kasur…

Do you guys still think this thing should continue??

Before you worry about Rundis' extra-curricular activities, their profession and their bad deeds why don't you first go and get rid of the evil politicians, feudal lords, serial rapists, killers, bribe-takers, and loan-defaulters?.

At least a prostitute doesn't bother you if you don't take it upon yourself to go visit her. WHereas all the evil-doers I described above cause you harm in one way or the other.

CA, I don't think FF said that she wants prostitution to continue. If anything, people here are arguing that they want people to be educated about STDs and more understanding about the situation of the girls.

If you don't want it to continue then why do you(or sadzz, etc) think it's alright if these people celebrate this kind of business and promote it?

CA, I don't think you have fully understood the thread. Lajjo typed out a made-up article. Heera Mundi folks are not celebrating anything. Lajjo is upset at Lahore bc of Basant and all. We are arguing his stance.

Where did I say it’s alright for these people to celebrate prostitution? :hehe:

Realistically, whether some of us like it or not, there is a market for their services otherwise they would be out of business. Let’s say they are put out of business tomorrow. How will they make money and survive? Will they be welcomed into ‘normal’ society and given fair opportunities? Either way, as Funguy has stated, I think there are major issues in Pakistan that need to be tackled first.

Also, as Funguy has stated above, this is not a real article. Nothing is being celebrated in Lahore. Lajjo, being the sicko that he is, made it up. If you ask me, he needs a hobby other than finding different ways to insult women.

Do most women around you ask for such services? I know some fart. I am trying to put pieces together.

funguy, I know that he made up the artcle and that's just him being a jerk. I don't think I misunderstood anything. You should read all the replies in this thread and then judge me.

that’s why I wrote sadzz name in the brackets..

please read the reply that i wrote to FF..

bheek maange jo bhi karen but this business won’t help them neither will it help the whole society…

Don’t young guys masturbate? Wanting to have sex is a natural instinct, and we shouldn’t be ashamed of it, and if money can buy it, so be it.
[/QUOTE]

Dude, I don't know what are you talking about. Lajjo started this thread. Ask him if he is young or if he does whatever you mentioned. I think he is the master of his domain.

<<Will they be welcomed into 'normal' society and given fair opportunities>>

Mehnaz "realistically" :D no one in Pakistani society or any other society is given fair opportunities. There are always discrimination and judgments. You're asking too much if you're saying people should treat them equally.

You guys are giving this thread way more credibilty than it deserves. Lajjo doesn't give a flying funk about prostitutes, him and his cronies can't bear to see that Lahore celebrated Basant like always with a great amount of happiness so they are trying to throw as much mud as it as possible. First it was the safety angle, then the 'hindu origin' now Lajjo's going for touchdown by trying to connect kite flying with rundis using his March of the Prostitutes fantasy story. This is how it always ends in most of Lajjo's threads to be fair.

CA, they should be given a chance. If they have the money to get an education, they should be allowed in and not mocked for their past actions. I don't think that's asking for too much. If they have the smarts and have the means to make money in a more 'respectable' profession, then they should be given a chance. I just don't see that happening in Pakistan cause there are too many people like Lajawab that will look down upon them continuously despite their efforts to reform. It comes back to the whole superiority attitude the likes of Lajjo have ... they will never accept anybody (prostitute or virgin) who do not hold their world view.
