Re: “Rules” of tape ball cricket
In the galli mohalla cricket, there would usually be a under-age player, and the father or uncle of that kid would ask the team to allow him to play a few balls. Just so the kid could feel all important and a real KIRRKITAR ![]()
“Yar iss ko doo tippay wali ball karwani hay” ![]()
and there used to be FIGHTS on who gets the prized position of a wicket keeper. As the keeper would be one who doesn’t have to do any running around ![]()
Uss ki piddi nahi lagti thee

Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
seriously you would always have that lazy guy who will bum around or ask to be wicket keeper..
Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
"t_ _ _ _n main maar, lbw nahi huaa koee baat nahi"
lol
Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
Agar ball jhaariyon main ghayab ho jaaye, to 1 run...Warna 2 bhaag ke bana lo...
Re: “Rules” of tape ball cricket
I used to do tape-ball tempering while scratching the tape from one end a bit and since sometimes, we used to play on the road (the ground cemented pitch was taken by a little older bullies of the mohalla), landing that scratched part of ball used to produced awkward swing with that pace.. did the hatrick for my team many times ![]()
Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
^^
lying ass!
Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
^
are you someone from our opposite team....??? :)
Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
i used to play a lot of tape cricket when i was living in Houston. I remember we had " 2 bar body per lagi out" rule and the last player has to run 2 runs or he is out kinda rule as well. oh i miss those days.. lol
Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
^ yeah something like this
I think it was "Last man bhaag kar run nahi bana sakta, sirf chowka /Chakka maar sakta hay" - Because the last man didnt have anyone at the non-striker end
Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
if the chappal breaks while someone is trying to score a run and he gets run out, it does not count.
Re: “Rules” of tape ball cricket
Most batsmen are trying to hit every ball for 4 or six…
if any one tries to defend you get a big roaring…
“yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!” and then you hear comments for atleast 4-5 minutes on the poor guy…naming every test cricketer they can think of …yeh Javed Miandad crease par kahray hain…![]()
and then you have one or two guys trying to do sledging style commentary continuously…passing jokes on each new batsmen..
haaha…
Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
losing team can look for any excuse to get out of the match..
e.g. ppl who have not ben to teh masjid snce last eid all of a sudden need to go for prayer because azaan honay waali hai. :)

Re: “Rules” of tape ball cricket
@ TRY BALL
Re: “Rules” of tape ball cricket
I’ve played on that position so many times ![]()
there was a term used for it. I can’t recall - it was somethihng like “Railu KatTa”. correct me if someone remembers it.
This position was the hardest one because one had to run & bring the ball from the bushes or from neighbor’s house or from faaaaar faaaaar away.
We used to have a “Trial ball”.
The rules were flexible according to the place where we used to play. choti jaga per Sixer means out. or sixer was only allowed to the left side because there wasn’t enough space on the right or there was a car parked.
wicket kay peechay oonchi ball phainko tu “nick out” because it could be a catch if there were a fielder :halo:
Re: "Rules" of tape ball cricket
accha yeh batao..deewar say bounce hui ball catch out hoti hay ya naheen?
that was a much disputed topic then.
