Re: “Rules” of tape ball cricket
Now here is the one that only I can believe:
I once took 4 wickets in one over in a double wicket match. And I am by far a medium-slow bowler.
Here is how it happened:
- First ball the batsmen was acting like a wiseguy cause I had not played in that team before. He charged me and went way off to the leg side, I bowled on his legs to which he was completely surprised and missed the ball, the fielders ran him out immediately.
- The next guy did not learn the lesson and again charged me, but this time straight down and I bowled a slow full toss. Clean Bowled! Not good timing at all.
- The third guy made a clean hit through the line of the ball over long on, but was caught behind the fence in the park. The fence was too close so the catching position was agreed earlier.
- Fourth guy missed a wider one that was not called as it was still in, and he got stumped.
Aahhh…what a memory…
