What else could be add in Ruksati its formal event, I never studied event management let me think hmm. . .
You may arrange 10 over cricket match before Ruksati , one team (brother sister friend whatever) from bride side and one groom side, its happened on my friend brother wedding and we won hahah… both families enjoyed had lot of fun.
Since most of my friends are non-desi I want it to be an experience. I'm thinking of having a Mehndi, Rukshati and Walima but is there any other events that can be added?
We have a day when the grooms family come over to teh girls house and bring her gifts dressed in white… then the girls sisters and female friends have the duty to colourise the grooms family
Basically its colour mixed with water then sprayed on the grooms family… it can be fun
that sounds nice and fun!
I’ll talk to my SO about it
I thought about speeches but my SO kind of vetoed the idea since it would be too embarrassing… -.-"
stealing his shoe for money sounds embarrassing and I wouldn’t particularly like it.
uh my translator is asleep please translate what you said.
I decided to just add another colourful event the day before the wedding. What can you do in Mehndis besides dancing and eating?

one of my desi friends did something really interesting on her wedding. she had lots of non-desi friends too that she wanted to spend time with. so they did a sort of mix and mingle type party...it was all the younger crowd...his friends, her friends, some cousins, siblings, etc. this way everyone got to meet everyone and were completely comfortable with each other by the time of the wedding.
some people do a couples shower...although it sounds cheesy...i think it'd be cute.
speeches, skits and dances are the usual highlights/entertainment of the evening at desi functions.
